I could feel Alex staring at me as if he can't believe I'm really inside his car. But I wasn't quite sure if he's looking at me or the window, so I tried to yawn and observed from the corner of my eye if he's going to follow, and he did. Alex yawned like a child and I can't help but smile with the way his eyes seem to disappear.

"Are you going to keep looking?" I asked him and he gives me a look, meaning to ask how I knew that he was staring, "I yawned and you followed after, yawning is contagious, there's a lot of explanation to it but I just proved you were looking." I tell him and I allow myself to glance at his reaction. And I saw him smiling like a fool again, the way he smiled when we ate Bibimbop at 2 A.M.

"I like it when you talk science." He told me smiling as if his cheekbones are going to pop out. Alex looks so happy today, it must've been great being out of the hospital without a cast.

"Tell me about it." I tell him and he looked at me for an answer. I beckon at his leg and he nodded to himself, already knowing what I wanted to hear from him.

"I got discharged the same day you did..." he let his words hang for a second until he spoke again, "I wanted to surprise you on Saturday but I have to keep my sanity, and the only way to keep it is to see you." He chuckles and I smile at his words.

I wanted to ask him something but I can't bring myself to do so. I'm actually confused on what's the real deal between Alex and I. Whenever someone asks me if there's something going on between us, I'd answer we're friends. But then I feel like there's a needle stuck in my throat when I say the word "friends".

I must've zoned out too long that Alex asked me if everything is okay, and I nodded to him. But he doesn't look convinced with just a nod from me, "Are you okay?" he asked me again and I smile at him before I answered I am.

"You must be hungry. Don't worry, I'll treat you out for lunch." He told me and I was taken aback when he suddenly reached for my head and he ruffled my hair like I was a little child. I don't get why I felt like there was a hundred lightning that struck me at the pit of my stomach and I had to swallow a lump in my throat. Alex looked at me and he mimic the way I stared at him - wide eyed. He let out a silent laugh and that just broke me from my daze and suddenly it felt like I held my breath for so long.

"You look so cute when you're surprised." He said as he started driving after a red light, he turned right and we parked at a restaurant. But it's not just another restaurant; it was where we ate Bibimbop. A smile suddenly emerged from my face and I looked at Alex who's already looking at me.

"Familiar?" He asked me and I nodded immediately, "wait here." He said and he went out of the car to get my crutches, he then opened the door for me and assisted me on the way inside the restaurant.

The place was packed with people of different races. I never knew they liked Korean cuisine for lunch time. Alex found a table for the both of us and we sat down, he was in front of me just like the last time. Eating here now at daylight, my mind drifts back to how the 2 a.m. craving went. It was my first time to sneak out with someone - not to mention a guy.

Alex slurped the noodles he ordered and I notice how his face got red, "Is it hot?" I asked him and he nodded as he cooled down the food inside his mouth, I didn't notice that I was smiling like a fool looking at him fan his hands as sweat formed on his forehead. Alex then gave me an awkward smile after drinking water. I ate spicy stir-fried pork for lunch today and I could say that my hunger was resolved.
