As I was walking down the hallways of my school I spotted Emily and Abby whispering, laughing, and pointing at me. I smiled and waved.
"Hi Abby, Emily. You both look nice today," I said.
I laughed at them in my head because of the shocked looks on their faces. Those poor girls were so confused as to why I was being nice to them. Why not be nice to them? They're human beings with feelings as well. I follow the golden rule: treat others as you would want to be treated.
It was the last day of classes. I wasn't going to waste it going out of my way to be bitchy to a couple of desperate attention seeking sluts. I felt sorry for them.
I was walking through the hallways with nothing but scars left on my wrists. No fresh, open cuts. I had gone weeks without cutting. I was so proud of myself. I was also wearing a spaghetti strap top, too!
My life was great. It was the end of the day and I was on my way to see Reid one last time before I left. I walked in and stopped at the door. I saw him and his wife together.
No, that wasn't the worst part. They were kissing. I thought they were getting a divorce. Reid looked over at me and his eyes widened.
"Desiree.. I-" he said.
"Save it," I said, not letting him finish saying what he wanted to. A man came up behind me who everyone knew as David.
"Do you know Reid Kennedy?" He asked me without poking his head in the room to see who was in there before asking.
"Apparently not," I said, not letting the tears in my eyes show.
He told me he loved me. He said he was over her. Didn't he?
I ran away that night and vowed to never go back.
