He waited patiently for her to walk through the small door of the coffee shop. He tapped his fingers on the table at a nervous pace while his foot tapped against the hard, checkered floor.
He wanted to thank Alyssa for handing in his book. He wanted to thank her for not going through it. Or did she?
She must think he's a creep if she did. Who wouldn't? But he was just curious about her. He was curious about how should would react to his book.

The door opened and he turned his head fast, but it was just another regular customer.
5 hours he waited. From 8am to 1pm. The waitress must've come by 13 times to his table ATLEAST, just to check up on him.
He picked up his bag and was about to head out when Alyssa entered.
Alyssa turned to him and smiled slighty.
She could've swore she saw him smile back.

This was it. Jack was finally going to say hi, he was finally going to introduce hisself.
Alyssa put her elbows on the counter and leaned over to tell the waitress her usual order. The waitress brought back her café latte, with Alyssa's name written on it with swirly cursive letters.
She took out her wallet to pay but Jack pushed her hand down. "It's on me, I insist" he looked down at her and smiled.
Alyssa smiled and grabbed her coffee,
"Thanks" she said taking a sip.
"No problem" he said putting his arm around his neck nervously.
His muscles tensed and Alyssa couldn't help but stare, and unfortunately he noticed, and gave a small smirk.
"I'm Jack by the way" he said putting his hand out.
"Alyssa" she fumbled and put her bag and coffee in one arm to shake his hand, embarrassed.
They walked to the front door and he opened it for her to go through.
She smiled, thanking him.
"So I was wondering if you wanna go to lunch tomorrow?" There. He finally said it. His heart was racing, waiting for her to reply.
"Sure" Alyssa's smile beamed. She has been waiting for this moment forever.
Alyssa grabbed her book and tore a page out to write her number down.
She handed him the note and smiled "see you tomorrow" and she skipped off.
If Jack had to admit one thing right now is that he swore he fell harder for this one girl than any other in a matter of seconds, and he knew this was the only beginning. A start of something new.
