I sat up fast, sweat pouring down my face as I overheard the news channel headline coming from the downstairs tv. I went downstairs as fast as possible and found my mum and dad staring at the t.v. 'When had they gotten back? Never mind it doesn't matter.' I thought to myself.
After 30 seconds of me standing at the bottom of the stairwell my mum pushed herself off of the red couch and guided me to sit down.
There was an awkward silence, no one talked but just stared, I really wish tommy was here right now.
'So how was the business trip?' I asked cheerfully hoping to get the conversation to get somewhere.
'Shh!' Mum yelled as the news came back on.
'3 hikers found dead, late last night. The bodies seemed to have been mauled by some sort of bear...or wolf, but aren't quite sure it was an animal. Police are searching the surrounding towns for evidence.'
'What did you do!?' My father exclaimed.
'I- I uh' I started.
'No! You went in the woods didn't you?!' He continued.
'Yes! I did! I'm sorry...' I said looking down ashamed of myself. My father stormed passed my mum and up the stairs.
'You don't understand what you've done, do you?' She questioned with a sarcastic laugh.
'No? Me, tommy, and Minho didn't kill those people!!' I screamed back standing up in anger.
'Oh honey, but you did!'
'She's right you know,' the dark voice said, I looked around the room to see where it came from, but nothing was there.
'You killed those people.' It said again. I still didn't see it, then the realization came. It wasn't here it was in my head, I'm going to wake up and this will just have been a nightmare, like the ones you keep waking up from. But I never woke up.
'How?' I questioned pulling a puppy dog face and sitting back down. She sat down next to me, and put an arm around my shoulder before starting again,
'I think we have to have a little talk.' She stated.
'Oh really?' I replied sarcastically.
