The summer of decisions
Chapter 1
I was awoken abruptly by a screaming conversation. What the hell is going on...?
My eyes flickered open slowly trying to focus. Reaching over blindly with my arm I grasped my glasses, pushing them on.
"Whats wrong with you people," I yawned, "Plus there's no need to be up this early,".
Rolling over in my pink sheets i reached for my iphone. She gave me a nasty look and rolled her eyes before continuing to wand her hair lightly.
I clicked the bottom button on my iPhone and blinked a bit finally realizing what time it was. 11:15.
"Oh.."
Brittany looked over and gave me the 'your such a dumbass look' before she started talking.
"Well i wouldn't have been screaming bloody murder if you didn't sleep for like 20 hours" she said through gritted teeth.
"Grandma was the first one to scream anyway. She wanted you to get your lazy ass up and get ready."
I threw my phone across the bed and sat up looking around the bright pink and window covered room. This room will never be changed, that's for sure. My grandma made sure to keep it the same for us so we can remember all the good memories. Cheesy, but It's one of the things I enjoyed most about being here. Looking at my sister, I noticed what she was wearing; an orange v-neck with some white ripped shorts and her white scruffy converse. Her dirty blonde, almost brown hair was waved perfectly on her shoulders. Green eyes winged with eyeliner, flawless. I was always jealous of her when I was younger, she got all the boys, and still does.
"Why are you so dressed up anyway..?" I remarked, bending down to pull my blue oversized t shirt down over my knees.
"Oh yeah, you weren't here," she said in a disapproving tone. "Because you fell asleep in the car all night," She snorted, before fixing her hair one last time. "Well I guess I should tell you that grandmas new friends should be here in a bout eh, 20 minutes?" Britt smirked.
Grandma never mentioned people coming over today?
"Why didn't you guys wake me up earlier then?!" I shouted immediately standing up. Balling my fists, I glared at her.
"Mom said to give you a while to sleep, and well, I did. Sorry. Well, I'm going downstairs," Brittany mumbled, quickly unplugging the curling iron and saying, "Oh, and wear something nice, we all want to make a good impression."
Scrunching my messy hair up, I sighed. Turning my head around, I looked for some decent clothes to wear. Stretching my arms back I got a good whiff of my arm pits. "Yeah, shower first,"
Speed walking into the bathroom, I made sure to lock the door behind me. I reached over to the shower and started running the water. The green floral print room filled with steam.
I turned around and ended up staring at myself though the mirror. Sigh, my dirty blonde hair was frizzed up EVERYWHERE and my face still had dull makeup covering it. My blue eyes had an extreme brightness to them today; I had no idea why though. Dropping my clothes off, I stared at my body. I've never been fond of how I looked, even though I worked out, I always seemed to be chunky.
Turning around I walked into the shower. I made sure to shave and wash my hair carefully. Letting the water pour down my body, I thought a bit. Being a half-wolf was never something to be proud of. Nobody could ever tell me if I'd ever have a mate, I could hope, but never know.
I'm hoping my sister won't be crazy this summer. My sister, who is a senior, normally threw parties every weekend. Red plastic cups always laid around. To this day she's never gotten caught. I've made a vow to myself that I would never drink until I'm 21. No need to screw up my life so soon. I'm hoping she's careful when she throws a party here, we don't need angry old people calling the cops.
After my relaxing shower I hopped out, wrapping the towel around my body and one around my hair. I started rubbing the lotion on my legs when I heard a few voices from outside. Wrapping the towel tightly around me I walked over to the window sill that conveniently overlooked the front yard. Leaning against the wall I looked over to where the voices were. 3 people were heading down the stoned path. Something smelled remarkable, but I couldn't put my nose on it.
A man was leading the others. He looked roughly about 40. The man was carrying a little girl with blonde hair. The girl looked about 8, with a purple summer dress draped on her body. Roaming my eyes farther back my gaze landed on a remarkable boy. He had brown hair and beautiful features. He could be a model. The 5'o clock shadow was boldly laying on his face. I stared down at him intently as they walked closer to the house. I better look good today. A smile was planted on his face for no reason. I watched as his hair bounced up and down on his head. I could tell he smelled something as well, as he kept sniffing up and searching around. Leaning closer, I realized the boy was staring at me the entire time. He smirked in my direction. Shit. Falling to the ground I slammed my head against the wall.
Well, I better get ready. They're basically here. Unlocking the bathroom door I made my way to my room. Sorting through my stuff I picked out a good outfit. Faded high waist blue jean shorts and a flowwy white crop top. I paired it with white vans. Unraveling my towel turban I grabbed the blow dryer and started to blow dry my hair. From downstairs I heard lots of laughing and talking. I really don't feel like socializing...
After my hair was partially dry I parted it to the right and hair sprayed it, making sure the loose strands stayed put. Pulling out my makeup bag I laid it out on the pink vanity that overlooks the dock/lake. The sunshine from outside reflected nicely against me as I applied concealer and eyeliner to my face. To finish off my look I got my bronzer and highlighted my cheek bones.
'Well, that's halfway decent,' I mumbled.
Unplugging my phone I checked my messages and got one from Monica and 2 from Jc. Replying quickly I slide the phone in my back pocket. Looking out the window I noticed Brittany was on the large dock with the boy i saw outside. Silently laughing I made my way down the creaky old steps.
