Chapter 6

Kaneki's pov
I woke up on the couch to the sound of a door closing. Tomoe must be getting out. I must have fallen asleep on the couch again. I looked at the clock and it was 8 p.m now. Why would Tomoe leave at this hour? I noticed that I got curious about this girl. The way she smiled, how she blushed. She was so innocent it was cute. I felt like following her but that would be stalking her right? I thought I could go out to. I got dressed up nicely and got out.
I walked to the train station only to see Tomoe on the same train I was going to catch: Shinjuku. I went to another carriage to not get seen.
I resisted the urge to go after her and walked to my favorite bar: Crystal 9. I sat on a table next to Nishiki and Chihiro and drank a marguerita. They were in promotion today so. I started to think about what I felt about this girl. She's cute fine but why was I so curious about her? Maybe because I want to help integrate here in Tokyo? Do I see anything different on her? Do I think her innocence is cute?
While I was thinking this, suddenly I hear her voice. I looked around to find her three tables away from me, next to Hitomi and Touka. They were pretty popular around here and knew almost everyone from here and school.
I watched her closely and Hitomi introduced her to her friends until Tsukiyama came around, flirting with her. I felt something boiling up inside me. Was I jealous? Of Tsukiyama?
But there was one small little detail that made me grin! She was going to my school in a week! That means I can keep a better watch of her... Wait!! What am I thinking? I want to stalk her?
As I thought this,she left with Hitomi. I wanted to go after her but if I did it would be strange so I stayed and talked to Nishiki and the others. But I knew I had to made up my mind before Tsukiyama gets to her.
As time passes by, I saw Tsukiyama swearing he would conquer her heart and I couldn't let him. I realized that I wanted her. She would belong to me. Her smile, her blush, her innocence it was something that didn't exist here in Tokyo anymore and I wanted that. I had to protect her and only I could do it. I was the mighty centipede after all.
As time went by, I noticed that she had returned with Hitomi. I watched her as they talked and got relieved when Tsukiyama got a straight rejection from Tomoe. I could only stare at her while she was talking to her new friends. However, when Tsukiyama got her a rose I almost broke the glass I was drinking. Who is he to give her a rose? I needed to do anything to get her attention, and quickly.
Hitomi came around our table and dragged Nishiki away. It was something I didn't pay much attention to until I saw Hitomi dragging Tomoe to Nishiki and told them to dance. Now Nishiki to!? I swear I felt my kakugan activate. I needed to do something, but she couldn't know it was me.
It was then when I had the idea of a secret admirer. I grabbed a pen and a paper and wrote: You look lovely today!-your secret admirer! And asked the bartender to give you a marguerita with the paper attached. I also paid the bartender to not revel my identity just in case. I walked back to my table where Nishiki already was.
" Where were you?" He asked.
"Nowhere".
" Hitomi just put me dancing with a girl named Tomoe. Seriously what is wrong with her?"
" Yeah, Hitomi was always a bit crazy."
" Yeah, and who's Tomoe? Doesn't seem from here. Do you know her? She seems a bit dumb don't you think?"
" Yeah, she sure does." At that moment I would smash the table if I could.
I look at Tomoe to find her intrigued by the paper, but not in a bad way. I hide myself when she and her friends came,looking for me and then I noticed she left. It was midnight so for the sake of her protection I followed her home, along with her friend and then until our building. Gladly no ghoul came or else I would have to kill them. She however didn't seemed to be preoccupy at all to be all alone at night. She must have not seem the warning signs. Well, that's why I'm here to protect her. She entered her iapartment and I noticed she left the door open. I slipped in and she is in her bedroom sleeping. I patted her head, resisting the urge of sleeping next to her. I didn't wanted her to freak out.
" Good night, my love!" Yes. I realized I loved her.
