Permanent Vacation

Chapter 2

It was finally May 16th. I was so excited to turn on Kiss 108. It was noon and 5SOS was going to be on the radio at 1. I made some brownies and vanilla milkshakes for Kenzie, Alicia and I when 5SOS would be on Kiss 108. We decided to watch tv for a little while, then it was 12:58 and I turned the tv off and I turned my laptop on and I opened the website for Kiss 108. The take over started just as I turned the radio on. "Hey guys! It's 5 Seconds of Summer. The winner is going to be announced shortly. We're actually going to call the three girls that won." I squealed, then I heard my cellphone ring. My eyes went wide at Kenzie and Alicia. I answered and I heard Luke say "Is this Mikayla?" "Yeah." I said, freaking out. "Well congratulations! You won the contest!" "Oh my god! Thank you so much!" I said. "We'll see you and your friend here next week!" "Thank you again Luke!" I started crying once I got off the phone.

"Oh my god!" Kenzie said as she broke down too.

Alicia just broke down as she came over and group hugged us. I hugged them back and I continued crying because I was so excited.

"We better go get cleaned up so we can go shopping for new clothes to take with us to LA." Kenzie suggested "Yeah." Alicia and I agreed.

We both then went upstairs to get dressed and put makeup on. We both finished and we went downstairs to get our purses and we left. Kenzie decided to drive her car and I hopped in the passenger side. She backed out of the driveway, and drove off. We were listening to 5SOS, and I got a call from a number that I didn't recognize. I answered on the Bluetooth in the car.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Mikayla, Alicia and Kenzie?" Michael asked

"Yes! Hi Michael!" I said.

"Hey, so we wanted to call to discuss the plans for you three getting down to LA." He said

"Ok." I said

"So we sent the plane tickets in the mail to you earlier so they should be getting there on Thursday. The flight is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 am. You will be landing in LA around 8:30." He said.

"Awesome! Thank you guys so much!" We both said

"No problem ladies! We're so excited to meet you on Saturday!"

"Us too!" I said

"We'll text you on Saturday to make sure you get to the airport ok, then once you get to LA, there is going to be a limo driver with a sign that will have your names on it. Follow him and he will take you to our mansion."

"Awesome! Oh my god we can't wait!"

"Alright we'll talk to you soon. And if you need anything, just call us." He said.

"Ok!"

"Bye."

"Bye."

I hung up and screamed. We were at the mall once I hung up, and Kenzie was just trying to find a place to park. We finally parked and we walked into the mall. We went up to Hot Topic and bought some tee shirts and tank tops and some shorts. We went to Charlotte Russe to get some high waisted shorts. We also went to a few other stores and bought a few more things.

We finished up shopping and it was 3 pm. We decided to get some frozen yogurt because we were hungry. Once we got our yogurt we sat down ate and talked about how excited we were about Saturday. We finished our yogurt and we walked out into the warm Boston air. The sun was shining bright and I pulled out my new aviators and put them on. It was finally Friday and we had another week until we left for LA. We got to the car and we drove home.

Once we got home, I ran upstairs to put the clothes I bought into a laundry basket to go into the wash. Kenzie and Alicia followed me and did the same thing. I put the clothes in the wash and Kenzie and Alicia were upstairs watching tv. I went up from the laundry room and joined them. We were watching Pitch Perfect 2, and I got up and made popcorn. Then Kenzie came over and made her amazing ice coffee. We all finished and we went back to watching the movie and having a lazy night. We watched a bunch of movies and then it was 10 and we went upstairs and went to bed.
