Marriage (A Zalfie Fanfic)

*Zoe's POV*

"Alfieeeee, get out here!!" I shouted from the kitchen.

"What is it, Zo?" He replied.

"Just get out here,by here's something for you," I was getting impatient. He came striding into the kitchen with no shirt on; he was half dressed, he had never looked so good. I couldn't like him though, Zalfie didn't exist. His expression showed that he was curious.

"What?" He said abruptly.

"Look what just came in the post," I said, "it's a huge wedding invite from Marcus and Naomi."

"Woah that is one hell of an invite!" He said in shock looking at the gold and cream box. Alfie had been waiting for Marcus' invite all week. He knew Marcus was getting married but he hadn't been asked yet, to be best man.

"Do you think he will ring?" Alfie asked me with a sadness in his voice.

"Of course he will, you're his best friend. Who else would be his best man!?" I replied making sure I sounded confident.

I hoped that Marcus would call soon, it had been driving Alfie insane. Which hadn't helped me either. Alfie's phone rang and he bolted into the other room. He wondered out of the room talking to Marcus. I could tell it was Marcus by Alfie's happy expression.

*Alfie's POV*

Why hadn't Marcus called yet, his invite had arrived. Surely I was the only option for best man. Who else would he pick?!

"Of course he will, your his best friend. Who else would be his best man!?" Zoe replied after I asked her if she thought he would ring soon. I knew she was right really but I was still sad. My phone rang. I ran to get it. It was Marcus!

"Marcus!!!!!" I said happily.

"Hey, how's things?" He asked.

"Great. Just got your invite! It's amazing!" I replied. Zoe mouthed 'who is it' to me. I mouthed 'Marcus' back. She nodded and left the room to get ready.

"So I was thinking, the wedding planning is coming on well but I still have some stuff to do. I was wondering if you wanted to meet up and do some shopping because I'm in London for a couple days?" He said, sounding quite nervous.

"Sure that would be great! Zoe is leaving today to meet Louise. What time?" I replied excitedly.

*Zoe's POV*

I could hear Alfie, he sounded excited. I was happy for him. I knew he was super duper excited that Marcus was getting married. All of our friends were in committed relationships and then we were both still single. I always thought I would be ready to get married by now.

"Hey, you're meeting Louise today, right?" Alfie asked as he poked his head round the door.

"Yeah, why?" I wondered.

"Marcus wants to meet. He is spending a few days here," Alfie replied lightly.

"Do you mind if I tag along for a bit to see Mr Marcy Butt Butt and congratulate him properly?!" I said joyfully.

"Yeah that's cool, he won't mind. He will be happy to see you. I'm leaving at ten so be ready." Alfie said.

"Okay!" I was happy to be able to see Marcus. I hadn't seen him in ages! Last time was when me, Alfie, Caspar, Louise and Marcus went to Nando's to have a catch up because we were all in London which is a rare thing!!

*Alfie's POV*

It got to ten and I was waiting by the door for Zoe. She came out of the Caspar's room because she was staying in there; he was away. She looked beautiful as always. I shouldn't be thinking that though. We are just friends. We have a brother-sister relationship. If anything did happen it would ruin our friendship.

"Earth to Alfie!! What are you thinking about? You have been staring at me for ages!!" She shouted.

"Oh, sorry sorry!!" I said shaking my head. I didn't realise how long I had been looking at her!!

"Well come on! Lets go!" She tugged on my arm and pulled me out of the door. I slammed it shut behind me.
