*Zoe's POV*
"... and I hope you love me too..." Alfie said still clutching both sides of my face from when he turned me around. I didn't know he felt this way, I didn't know he liked me too. I knew this trip was not just friendly. He had seemed so on edge and now I knew why. I would never have had the guts to do what he just did. I felt like I had kept him waiting. I had been lost in my thoughts. He looked at me, pleadingly. Anxiously awaiting a reply. I didn't know what to say, how to chain my thoughts together into an understandable sentence.
"Alfie," I sighed quietly, all hope drained from his eyes.
"I knew you wouldn't feel the same, I'm such an idiot." He said kicking the sand as he turnt away from me.
"You didn't let me fin-" He interrupted me mid sentence.
"Don't," he sighed, "It won't help. I will just feel so much worse with your pity." He shot me a look of regret and started off down the coastline.
"Alfie-"
"No Zoe."
"Alfie please."
"Zoe, stop please. It wont help ("Please Alf" I mumbled under my breath, even though I knew it was no use). I already feel like an absolute idiot-" This time I interrupted.
"ALFIE! SHUT UP AND LET ME FINISH!" I shouted, definitely getting his full attention, " I love you too." I blushed and turned away. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him stuck to the spot. He was shocked, I could tell. All of a sudden, I felt his arms wrap around my body and pull me round to face him. Our lips crashed together in time with the wave. I could feel him smiling and I'm pretty sure he could feel me smiling too. I had been picturing this moment for months, how it would feel, where it would be, the passion, the perfect moment when we both realised this is what we wanted, but this, this exceeded all expectations. This was better than could ever be imagined. His warm, toothpastey breath and his hands cradling the small of my back so carefully, like he wasn't sure if he could touch me yet. I put one hand in his chocolate brown hair and tugged lightly whilst the other was placed gently on his waist. The sound of the seaside perfected the whole moment, like it was something out of a movie.
He pulled away and looked at me, I could see my lipstick blended in and around his own lips. His hair, messed from the wind and my hands, seemed more perfect and in place than ever. I smiled meekly. It hit me what had just happened. I had kissed Alfie, something I had been waiting for and playing over in my mind for months, and now it was real and seemed like I could do it whenever I wanted.
"Come on, let's go back." He said winking at me as he took my hand and pulled me down the beach back towards the cabin.
