Chapter 5
The window shattered round where we were sitting. Glass falling into my hair as I bowed my head and screamed.
I felt hands grab my arms, pulling me into a standing position. This one lasted a second because I was softly thrown to the ground. My back landing with a soft thud. Vincenzo's body covered mine like a blanket. He would have molded into me if my baby bump wasn't in the way.
One of Vincenzo's arms grabbed my head and pullied it into the muscular coulmn of his throat. His other arm wrapped around my waist, gripping my hips tightly. My hands shot to my belly as I held tight.
I screamed as I heard another gunshot whizz past us, bouncing off the cement we were laying on. Vincenzo pulled my body closer towards his. I was so confused onto what the hell was happening.
I vaguely heard tires screeching away from the house. I was too worried about myself and Vincenzo. I think it was the adrenaline causing me not to break out into tears. My breathing was erratic by the time I could clear my head a little.
Vincenzo tensed and the grip he hips was begining to be painfully. I moved my head away from his throat to see the dangerous scary look was plastered on his face.
His eyes were full of anger and completely dangerous. His lips were pulled back in a snarl. I gulped as I looked at him. Part of me was scared because of the way he was looking, and the other part was scared because of the possibility that the people were coming back.
Vincenzo pulled me up into a sitting poistin. I didn't realize I was shaking until I could hear my teeth cattering against my lips.
"Are you okay?" Vin checked my body for any signs of damage. His hands rubbed against my back making me wince. He was too busy looking over the rest of my body to notice. His hands pulled my shirt up over my belly.
"Hey!" I protested trying to pull my shirt back down, but his hands tightened on it.
"I'm just trying to see if the baby's alright. I'm not trying to cop a feel." I sighed and watched as his hands felt my bump for a few seconds before letting the shirt drop back down.
I cleared my throat and winced at the slight pain. "I'm fine, Vin. What I want to know is what the hell just happened?" I looked away from and looked around the house and yard. Bullet holes were visible around the deck and the windows were broken.
"This shouldn't have happened, Cara. You wanted to know what I am involved in, well this is it." He didn't elaborate on anything more and I was getting tired of it.
"You are a fucking bastard! You're sick! I can't believe that I didn't see that in the beginning. I ask you a couple questions and this is what I get in return! Gunshots fired at my parents house and me." I screamed at him. My hands hitting his chest hard.
Vincenzo grabbed my chin in his hand firmly, "Don't hit me, Cara. I'm running out of self-control here, and trust me when I run out of self control, things don't turn out too good." He growled, warningly.
My eyes widened and I immediately shut up.
He sighed and closed his eyes before opening them again to look at me. "Damn it, Arianna. You don't know anything about what just happened. You could have been hurt, and it would have been my fault."I didn't know what to say. I was still a little scared of the way he handled me, so I just nodded my head weakly.
"You and I need to tell your parents and my father about the baby. I'm going to be around more now and they all need to understand that." He helped me off the ground and pulled out his cell phone. I walked away from him and rushed inside to see my dad and Sandro missing from the dining room.
