The light shining through my curtains, the warm rays onto my body, such bliss. I woke up to another great day in Ooshima's Inn. I can hear loud screaming from outside my door. Must be children. I just feel so alive today. I wonder what I should do today...
I do happen to spot a library before I came here. I might as well check what they got. Hopefully they have something that I'll like.
The library...bigger than I expected. Seems like the theme everywhere here is an old fashioned antique thing. This library look so ancient! Yet still it stands so proudly before me. Honestly, I'm afraid to go in. I might break the doors or something.
"Nah...I'll just go somewhere--!!!" And then I bumped into someone...
"Oh my gawd! I'm so sorry!" I panicked and apologize to a black feline.
"You should be. If you were planning to go inside, then go in. Don't just stand there and suddenly change your mind." Such a sharp tongued cat...what's his problem?
I bowed in apology just to make it clear that I'm sorry. All I got back was a cold stare.
"What are you doing? I got that you were sorry. Now would you please step aside so I, and others, can go inside?" He spit out more tacks to my face.
"Uh...sure..." that cat...take a damn nap or something. You don't have to be so harsh.
I held the door open for him and thought about tripping him in the process but instead...
"Would you mind showing me around this place? I'm new here and it would be nice to have a tour guide." I faked a chuckle to get on his good side. It's true that I need someone to help me and asking the librarian would be too much for me. I'm way to shy for that.
"That explains why you changed your mind and decided to run into me. Wouldn't a librarian be more efficient for your needs?" Again with the stare? I can live without it...
"You see...I'm too shy..." Dammit just help me!
"Fine then. Just don't get lost and I have things to do. Ask questions now before it's too late." He turned and headed off. I wonder if he's always this direct. Is it just toward me? Does he hate me already? Did I not give a good impression?
He led the way ever so quietly. He's so straightforward as well. This cat...what business does he have in a library anyway?
"So, um, what brings you to this place?" Kinda curious and trying to keep on his good side, I asked him a simple question.
"This is a library. Of course, it's natural for one to come here and read." He hasn't even shifted ways to look at me. Dammit. This guy's on the same level as Kounosuke. Is everyone around here gonna piss me off?
"Never mind why I'm here, shouldn't you introduce yourself? I'm sure we'll meet again." Now he turns around. We stopped at what seems like am aisle for cook books. Does he think I'm a chef or something?
"Huh? Kyo!" A familiar voice shouted across the aisle. It was none other than him, Torahiko. Boy, am I glad to see him, with a huge grin as well.
"Tora! What are you doing here?" I surprisingly questioned his presence.
"Would you mind and keep it quiet! May I remind you two that we're in fact in a public library!" That feline whispered to us but it felt like more of scolding sensation.
"Oh yeah, sorry Shin. I'm just happy to see Kyo here. How do you know him?
"I don't know him. I just met him not too long ago. He bumped into me and now I'm showing him around this place." He facepawed silently.
"Wait....you know him, Tora!?" In shocked I stared at him. How does he of all people know this black furball?
"Of course I know him! We go way back. Me, him, Hiro-" And then he paused. Who was the last person? All he gave was a saddening look as he faced the ground.
"Uh...Torahiko? You ok?" I need to make sure he was alright. This sudden act of sorrow isn't like him.
"!!! Yeah, I'm ok. Just lost in thought. That's all."
Hmm...it doesn't seem like it's my business to know so I'll just leave it alone for now.
"So why are you here again? I never would have expected you to be here."
"He's here for cook books, isn't that right?" Shin's stare broke Tora's wall of secrecy. He stepped back and had the looks of him about to freak out.
"H-how...?"
"You like to cook. I've mentioned cook books to you being here in the library. There's no other reason for you to be here." He said searching for something.
"Hold on. Does that mean you like to cook as well, Shin?" I assumed with the information I heard.
"Indeed, I do. It's my passion." He picked out a book and began to leave. He sure has no intention to talk some more.
"Wait Shin! I need to ask you something!" Torahiko plead him to stayed. Suddenly he became bashful and leaned over to him. I can see him looking over to me. Not very secretive.
"Umm....I can still see you." I blatantly spoke. Tora instantly blushed and turned himself around, Shin following. Then I heard something.
"To each his own. I don't really care much. But if I must, I would." Shin spoke casually with Torahiko shushing him. Shin then stepped away.
"Don't do that. And I won't be coming over. If you're so eager for another person to come, ask Kyo." He gave me a stare. I just looked back. I'm lost about what they're talking about but I am curious.
"Umm...." I made myself able to be heard.
"Kyo! You're coming with me!" Torahiko quickly reacted and took my hand as we left the library. I never even got the pleasure to know what they were discussing....
"Heh heh, he is quite the handsome person, Torahiko. But it is his choice to decide who he wants to be with." Shin chuckle silently, looking at the book selection. "Perhaps I will win him over by cooking him sweets..." his tail twitched as he perked his ears. "My...that's not like me at all. Maybe I do like him...is because of the resemblance...?" He spoke softly looking down as he placed the book back.
