Chapter 5
"Grounded!!! What about my birthday party??!?! You know that's tonight right?!" She whined.
"Don't worry I'll be there trust me." I bit into my hamburger.
"I even got a band to play. I think they're called switch it I think." She shrugged.
"How are you gonna go when you're grounded?" He laughed.
"You don't know me ok. I have my way." I stuck my hand in his face, pushing him away. "So swerve."
He chuckled and pushed my hand down.
"I can't believe my mom rented out the venue I'm having it at." She squealed slightly.
"Me neither." I smirked. "This party's gonna be epic."
"Please."
"No."
"Please." I hopped on the counter and traced the patterns.
"No!" She shouted.
"Please." I whined and watch her bustle about the kitchen.
"No Roxie. I told you no. My answers gonna say no." She seemed frustrated.
"Mom please! Everyone who's everyone is gonna be there. I'm party of that everyone!!" I argued.
"I don't care. Why don't you study for that play you're doing?" She sprinkled some spices into a bowl.
"I need a break mom please. It's Carly's birthday. I can't miss her party. That'd be a bad friend." I pouted.
"You should've thought of that before you snuck a boy into your room now should've you?" She mixed the bowls contents.
"Mom!" I whined.
"Roxie!" She mimicked.
"Ugh you're so annoying!!" I jumped off the counter.
"That's what moms are for!!" She yelled after me as I stomped out the kitchen.
I snatched my phone out my back pocket. I quickly sent a text to Carly.
See you in a hour. -Roxie
It wasn't long before she replied.
Your mom said you can go? -Carly
Nope -Roxie
Sneaky -Carly
I smirked and tossed my phone on my bed. I laid my party clothes across my bed, and my shoes on the floor. (Her outfit on the side)
I hopped down from my vine ladder and walked to Bethany's house. She was also going to Carly's party. She agreed to take me. After a few minutes we were off.
The ride was silent and slightly awkward. It seemed to drag on forever. When we arrived music was already playing.
The venue was out in the woods but it wasn't creepy. It was surrounding an old burned out house. Nothing was left but pillars and the tile floor. It had a stage set up for the band that was playing.
"You made it and you look gorgeous!!" She pulled me into a hug
"You two." I looked back at her.
She wore a bubblegum pink dress that puffed up and stopped mid thigh. She had silver 3 inch heels and they strapped around her ankle. Her makeup sparkled from the few lights that were hung up and she had on a tiara. Her hair was curled and she really did look beautiful.
