Chapter 28- Everything Will Fall

Ellie

A burning sensation is what caused me to open my eyes. I screamed in pain when I saw a women holding a burning brand against my arm, the stinging was unbearable and I could almost feel myself swelling up. I seethed and hissed but the woman laughed and ran her fingers through her short black hair.

"I've been informed that you've basically given yourself up to us." She sat in a chair in front of me and proceeded to tap her polished black fingernails on the wooden chair. It was clear that my unbearable pain did nothing to affect her.

"I want my pack to be left alone, or you will be dead. My life is a bargaining tool, if you kill me you will die. But I came here to make peace, if you promise to stop hunting my pack and all wolves, we will let you live." Despite my pain my words came out so steadily I scared myself.

She laughed, "who do you think you are?"

I scoffed and narrowed my eyes at her while my wrists struggled against the wolfsbane infused rope that was keeping me tied to the chair, "You know very well who I am."

She smirked, "I suppose I do." She looked at her nails and clicked her teeth. "Elizabeth Devereux, we've been watching you since you popped out of the mental hospital. Congrats because we really all thought you were crazy, we had bets going on how long it would take you to slit your wrists."

"Go to hell," I hissed. She continued to laugh, "gossip of the department is that you've really gotten around. What was the order? I think it was Grayson, Talon and now Jacob?"

I opened my mouth to speak but a voice behind the woman spoke up, "Nope, it's Grayson, Jacob and then Talon."

The woman replied, "ohhh. Isn't Jacob the one with a new girlfriend?" She was trying to hit a tender spot.

"Why do you hate us so much?" I asked. "It seems a little hypocritical of you since you're own son is one of us." I heard her hand against my face before I felt it, and I felt her nails dig into the skin above my cheekbones.

"The next time you use your sinful powers on me, you will end up with a bullet in you." I looked up at her through the stray hairs that made their way in front of my eyes. It became clear to me that this was where they intended to kill me, there was at least thirty people in this room who were waiting to see me die. I couldn't worry about myself anymore. I bit down on my lip and listened carefully while the women talked to the people surrounding us and I bit down on my lip so hard that I could taste the blood. I imagined running through hallways to find the cells where I first woke up and seeing Poppy's sister. I opened her cell door and I watched as she slowly walked out, looking around for all the hunters.

Go, Kya. I thought. Get everyone out.

I was brought back to the conversation when I heard a man in the back say how I would would be too quick to hang me. It will take them about three minutes to get out. I've only guessed at how many people are trapped but I'm taking a risk anyway.

"What if we could use her? We could try out the new serum, then she could lead us back to her pack. Or better yet, we could have her kill them and then kill herself. Problem solved."

That's when I was starting to sweat. What the hell were these people doing? Why on Earth did they hate us so much? I tried to make my way back into the woman's mind but there are so many people here radiating hate that I can barely breath.

She clapped, "What a wonderful idea! It will allow us to kill the Alpha King and his pack also. Splendid." Think. Think. What are you going to do Ellie? They are going to make you kill everyone you love.

I thought about everyone in my pack and my brother who are probably already on their way looking for me. I thought about Talon and his pack, and I thought about Jacob and his family and friends.

I've failed everyone and we they are all going to die if I don't do something.

I hope Edward was reading my thoughts right now, because I have a plan.

Tell everyone I'm so sorry and I love them.

I closed my eyes and forced myself to become trapped in my mind. This has to work, or everyone I love will die because I live.

"Hey!" Concerned voices started to fill the air along with rushing footsteps.

"What are you doing? Stop! Someone shoot her!" I felt a bullet enter my upper arm in a second, but that only fueled my anger.

If I was going to die, I was taking them with me.

I opened my eyes just in time to see everything fall.

Talon

I told everyone her plan because she was going to be home hours ago and she wasn't.

"Tell us exactly what she told you," Alice asked me gently.

I ran my fingers through my hair, "she said she was going to get them to bring her in and then when she's about to meet the leader, she's going to kill them. She said no one is going to hurt anymore people that she loves."

"Jesus," Jacob hissed and hurled a glass cup against the wall. "YOU JUST LET HER GO? YOU'RE HER FIANCE AND YOU JUST LET HER GO ON A SUICIDE MISSION?"

I growled at him, "she is the alpha queen. Incase you have forgotten. As much as she means to me, there is nothing anyone can make her do."

"He's right, ya know." Poppy finally said something after being silent for the past half hour. She continued, "I've seen how much he cares about her and he wouldn't just tell her or encourage her to do something like this. She is stubborn and she thinks she has to protect everyone before she protects herself."

"Okay. We need to stop talking and start looking for her." Everyone stood in a silence for a moment to think of plans.

"Talon can find her, you guys have a connection and you two are to be mated soon. You just have to feel for her energy." Declan moved closer to me and started to talk again.

"If you don't find her, she could die."

"What if she already is?" Bella asked and everyone shot her dirty looks.

I looked down at my shaky hands and at my beta who was waiting for instructions, "Okay." I nodded and started to dig deeper into my mind.

"I think that we should start in the woods, the hunters hardly ever hunt us outside of the area, let's start there." Everyone agreed and we all took off running. Most of us have already shifted into our wolves but the ones that haven't keep us with us despite the lack of having two less legs. I looked for anything that smelled of her, it took a good twenty minutes until I smelt a hint of vanilla, strawberries and mint.

Then, we started to shake. The ground was physically shaking, and we heard the sound of feet running, but there was too many feet to be just Ellie, but I hoped that she was at the front of that pack.

"Kya?" Poppy cried out. They ran to each other so fast I thought they might crumble together. "You're alive? I can't believe.... I've looked for you.... I don't understand."

Kya let out a small breath, "I know. I've missed you too, more than anything. But right now we have to get out of here. Ellie only gave us so much time before the whole place is coming down."

"What?" Jacob hissed.

"I don't know how she did it okay? But they took her away and a few hours later my cell unlocked and I heard her tell me to get everyone out and to run. We have to go," she pushed her sister.

"Jax, take them back to the Cullens. Doctor Cullen will help them, we have to go get Ellie."

Kya cried, "you can't go back there! I love Ellie too but she made a decision, she's going to kill them all."

A chill ran down my spine, no. I couldn't be losing her already. I took off towards the crumbling sound of bricks and I heard others follow behind me. It didn't take us long to find a three story building that looked like it was being torn apart by a earthquake.

We watched as everything fell.
