Jason"Oh god, Jason! Wake up!"
My shut eyes slowly opened as the bright light coming from the semi opened blinds illuminated my somewhat naked body. I groaned in frustration and immediately covered my face with the pillow next to mine.
"Jason, she's coming! Wake the hell up!" he screamed once again but I decided to ignore it.
I hadn't even processed his words before feeling my blanket being ripped off of my body. The cool, pollinated wind from the April air was felt against my skin which finally made me wake up. I huffed and got up to see my boyfriend standing in front of my bed with his hand against his hip.
I knew that was code word for: Get the hell up or I'll kill you with my bare hands.
Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, I yawned and gave Steve a questioning look. "Why? What time is it anyway?"
"6:04," he stated calmly like that was the normalest thing in the entire universe.
"What?!" I shouted and plopped down to my bed again. "It's basically the god damn night, Steve. Why the hell are you waking me up?"
"She's coming, you tired moron." Steve pushed me off of the bed and I landed with a thud onto the floor.
"Who?" I muttered due to my face being plastered onto my wooden bedroom floor.
"The girl, you idiot! For the baby." I heard him rummaging through the bedroom, and trying to fix the bed as fast as possible.
I immediately got off the floor and ran into my closet. "Shit, shit, shit", I mumbled to myself as I tried to find the right and appropriate attire. "Why the fuck is she coming at a time like this?" I yelled so that Steve could hear me from the other room.
"I don't know, Jason. Why don't you ask her yourself so that we could look bad?" Sarcasm was audible in his voice which just made me mimick him for fun. I do solely realize that I am a bit immature, more like a lot, but this was too damn early for me.
Suddenly, the loud and irritating doorbell rang throughout the house which caused Steve to shriek in surprise.
I might have forgotten to change that.
"Jason!" screamed Steve in a threatening voice as I started to run for the front door. I hurriedly ran for the door and opened it to find no one. I turned around and tried to look inside for some unknown reason, like she would actually be in my house or something.
Stupid much.
My body turned around to the front door again and I saw her. "Oh, sorry. I was just admiring your flowers", she pointed at my lawn full of these random ass flowers the woman that used to live here planted.
She pulled a string of hair behind her ear before looking up at me. Wearing a yellow sundress with little sunflowers on the side. She wore these brown small boots that kind of looked nice with the dress but she obviously didn't have a sense of style.
I ran my hand through my hair in stress because to be completely honest, she surprised me. She wasn't what I had expected her to look as I raked my eyes down her body. She suddenly coughed uncomfortably as she observed me as well. I followed her gaze to myself and found out that I wasn't wearing a goddamn shirt.
Just great.
"Sorry," I mumbled awkwardly and tried to cover my chest. Could I be any more embarrassing?
"Ha, it's okay. It could happen to anyone," she giggled which made me chuckle. She was intriguing, if anything. "So...can I come in?"
"Uh, yeah sure!" I said a bit too loudly and stepped aside so she could come in.
She was observing my new house and looked around for a bit. "Nice place you got", she finally said after a moment of silence.
"Yeah, sorry about the boxes. We just moved in." I bit my lip in nervousness and just hoping Steve could come in already. He could make me look good but I wasn't doing an amazing job at my part now.
"Um, so you're Steve? The guy I've been emailing?"
I chuckled lightly and shook my head, it was just a bit funny that she thought I was Steve. We were like two completely different people. "No, I'm Jason. His partner", I gave her my award winning smile and lifted my hand so we could shake it.
She smiled back at me and we shook hands for awhile, a bit more than that. Yeah, it was super awkward. Finally, I heard someone stumbling down the stairs and Steve finally showed up with his khaki pants and button down white shirt. His blonde hair was gelled back and he wore those fancy shoes of his.
"Oh, Wesley! It's so nice to see you," he said overly excited and went to give her a huge welcoming hug. "Welcome to our home." He smiled at her but I noticed that he was a bit surprised too.
Steve looked over at me and his blue eyes dilated pretty big and all, I never wanted to laugh so hard in my life. Wesley noticed this too and was holding back her laughter. He coughed and said, "Um... Jason. Maybe you should go wear a shirt."
"Yeah, sure", I tried to answer casually while hiding my grin and ran up the stairs. I put on a normal white T-shirt but then I wondered if that was appropriate since it would show my tattoos. I was already wearing dark skinny jeans and I just ran my hands through my jet black hair to try to at least tame it.
Who cares? She has to like you for who you are anyways.
I sighed in relief and finally went back downstairs to see that Wesley was currently sitting on one of the kitchen stools as Steve was warming up a cup of tea. "Did I miss anything?", I walked in and went to sit in the stool beside Wesley.
She smelled like christmas, I know that's weird but her scent was intoxicating. She smelled like a mixture of pine cones and cookies. It was devouring but I knew I had to concentrate at the task in hand.
As Steve pours the boiling water into the fancy teacup, he says, "So, Wesley, what makes you think you would be a good surrogate mother for us?"
