Yay!! We're off to save Break! I'm proud you care about him, reader (unless you're saving him to avoid being hit by Sharon). So, let's see how things go, shall we?
You groan with annoyance as you begin to walk in the Baskervilles' direction.
"(y/n)-san?" Sharon asks.
"I'm going to save Break," You reply. "You find somewhere safe to hideout, for now." You hear Sharon coming after you, which is the opposite of what you asked her to do.
"Sharon, please, just—""I won't let you face this alone, (y/n)-san." Sharon said as she walked alongside you. "Break has been faithful to me ever since my mother and I took him in. I can't abandon him now." Good thing you didn't ditch Break, right? Sharon would've gone, anyway!
You eventually see Lottie, but she's alone. This might be a good time to overpower her and threaten the other two.
"Lottie!" You call. Screw the element of surprise—don't worry, I know what you're doing. Lottie looked in your direction and smiles."Ah, (y/n)-chan!" She greets playfully. "Good to see you're still alive. Come along quietly, won't you? Your dear Hatter is being held in the carriage, and we wouldn't want anything to happen to him, would we?" You shake your head as you and Sharon approach her submissively. You begin to follow her, and then...you took your chance! You leaped at her, wrapping your arms around her neck. She's taken by surprise and stumbles, trying to wrestle you off of her.
"Sharon!" You say. "Quick, summon Equus!" Sharon nods and obeys your order."Equus!" She summons the Chain, and then Lottie notices. You see her trying to reach for her throwing knives, but you kick her arm in response. Finally, you jump off of her, and Equus tackles her to the ground, keeps a hoof on her back. Lottie struggled like a bug to get free.
"Good job, Sharon," You said."You were the one you thought swiftly, (y/n)-san!" Sharon pointed out. You smile, and then you look at Lottie seriously.
"Alright, Lottie," You begin as you tower over her. "I'll give you the choice right now. Let us free Break or I won't hesitate to kill you." Lottie growls in response, but she doesn't answer. "Lottie, if you don't say anything now, I have another method that'll work just as well." Lottie still said nothing, and you rolled you eyes."Sharon, stay here," You say as you begin to walk off. "If she begins to get loose, just call. I'll be right back." You begin to run through the forest, looking for something. It was these types of forests where people would cut down trees and such, so perhaps they left something handy behind...
Out of the corner of your eye, you see a piece of rope laying around. It was long, but that was probably because the rope was supposed to be used to tie logs together. Oh well—you need the rope more than tree cutters do! You took the rope and ran back to Sharon, and thankfully, Lottie hadn't gone anywhere. You tie her wrists together behind her back, and then you instruct Sharon to tell Equus to get off of Lottie. Sharon nods and orders the Chain away. You sit on top of Lottie, before she can get up and run.
"No running, Lottie," You say as you begin to wrap the rope around her body. "'Just come along quietly, won't you?'" Lottie growls at you as she recalls that that's what she had said to you, not long ago. Before you get off of Lottie, you have Sharon call her Chain again. You tie the remaining rope around the horse's body.
"This way, Lottie definitely can't get away," You explain to Sharon as you tie the knot. Then, you begin walking out of the forest, dragging Lottie along.
"You'll pay for this, (y/n)..." You heard her mutter. "The only reason I'm not summoning Leon to kill you is because I don't want you dead...yet." You let out a huff of amusement.
"Right," You say. "That's because I'm supposed to be sent to Abyss, right? You'd rather watch the Chains from Abyss drag me down into the depths as I slowly fade away once there. That seems enough like you." Lottie said nothing as you saw the path again. You also saw the carriage, and Fang and Dug were both standing outside.
"Hey!" You call. They look in your direction, and then you see Fang's shocked expression as he noticed Lottie.
"Lottie-san!" He shouts as he took a step forward."Don't come any closer," You order. "Not unless you want me to strangle Lottie." Neither Fang nor Dug come any closer. "Give us back the carriage and I'll give you back Lottie. And don't come after us, either, or else next time, I'll really kill her. I'll have my sword at hand, next time." Fang and Dug look at each other, and then back at you. They both stand submissively. "Now let's all switch sides so we're standing by the carriage." Everyone begins to walk forward, and you keep Lottie as far away as possible from them (Sharon as well). Once you've both switched sides, you look at Sharon.
"Can Equus walk over there and disappear?" You ask. Sharon nods, and then she sends Equus off to the other side. You knock on the door.
"Break," You begin. "No time to explain—get behind the horses and get ready to drive." Just as Equus arrives at the other side, Break sits behind the horses. As soon as Equus fades away, you get Sharon into the carriage as you climb on top.
"Go!" You tell Break. He lashes at the horses, and then you watch at the Baskervilles faded off in the distance. You let out a sigh of relief as you look for your suitcase.
"What happened?" Break asked. You open your case and pull out your sword."Nothing much," You replied nonchalantly as you observe your sword and shut the case. "I just saved you and Sharon. No need to thank me."
"Alright then, I won't." Break said."Hey, I was kidding!!" You insist. "I'd like some congratulations!" Break laughed.
"You did very well, (y/n)-san," He points out. "Once we reach the nearest town, we'll stop there and rest at an inn." You nod, and you climb back into the carriage. Once you do, you sit across from Sharon. You show her your sword.
"I got it this time," You say. "No worries." Sharon giggles."I owe you my life, (y/n)-san." She looked at you with a beaming smile. "And Break does, too." You nod, and when you make it to town, Break gets two rooms at an inn. You complained, but then he said "It's either with me or Milady, (y/n)-chan! Your pick." Not willing to embarrass yourself, you stick with Sharon. Plus, you could be ready to fight in an instant in case the Baskervilles invaded again. Break has a sword, and so do you—Sharon's only weapon was her Chain.
After you finally settled on your bed, you and Sharon say goodnight to each other and sleep, which is something that everyone needed, after today.Yay! It's not over yet, because we still have to deal with the Baskervilles. I'm a little upset with the only real ending I came up with for this, but it's the only way to resolve it, in reality. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter! And in case you're wondering, this is really why the Baskervilles didn't come after you...
Fang and Dug quickly untied Lottie as the carriage drove away.
"Are you alright, Lottie-san?" Fang asked. "Should we go after them?""No," Lottie replied. "They have to have realized the only conclusion to this chase by now. We'll let them decide the fate of that girl..."
