Hmm, I really put you in a bad situation, hm? And I feel bad for being mean to Sharon-chan :( I guess I'll have to get over it, though. You're more important, right?
Your vision was slowly coming back. The only thing that was different was the room you were in. You gasped and sat up, looking around the familiar room. You saw her again, standing by the window and gazing out.
"Lacie!" You say before you can stop yourself. The woman turned around and smiled at you.
"Hello, (y/n)," She greets. "I'm glad I managed to reach you. You seem to be in a little trouble, though."
"That doesn't matter," You insist. "Last time you were talking to me it seemed important. What do you want to tell me?" Lacie looked out the window again."It's a long story, (y/n)," She replied. "But I will give you the minor details." She looked at you again. "You're aware, now, of your red eyes. I know you've noticed mine, but do you understand what the price of having red eyes is?" You shook your head no. "You see, I was around when Sablier wasn't destroyed." Your eyes grew wide.
"That was over a hundred years ago..." You murmur."Right." Lacie said. "And I died a little while before the tragedy."
"Wait, then what about—"
"My hundred year cycle?" Lacie finished your sentence. Then she let out a soft laugh and looked out the window again. What was out there that she wanted to look at so badly? "I never had my hundred year cycle because I was sent into Abyss. That's the price, (y/n). Back then, if you had red eyes, they would send you to Abyss because of the misfortune you were supposed to bring. That was only a rumor, though..."
"Wha—?""I can't keep you here for much longer." Lacie interrupted as she faced you yet again. "But I suppose this would be a good note to leave off at..." She walked towards you, and then slowly reached for you face. She never touched it, though, and instead pulled her hand away as if she'd never reach you. "It doesn't seem like so long ago you were born..." Lacie murmured. "My three daughters...I wish I could have seen you grow up." Your eyes grew wide. Is she implying what you think she's implying?
"L-Lacie..." You stutter."Goodbye, my princess," Lacie said. "This just may be the last time I get to see you." Suddenly, she faded, and so did everything around you. You were now floating in a black void, and your eyes were slowly beginning to shut. You were about to wake up in the real world, you supposed. Lacie's words made you wonder, though...
Was there really a way she was your mother?Suddenly, your eyes fluttered open again, and you found yourself in a familiar green forest. You sit up, looking around.
"Sharon?" You call. You sigh after a moment of silence. You'd have to ponder Lacie's words later—finding Sharon was on the top of your to-do list, at the moment. Where could she be, though? This forest is gigantic, and the Baskervilles were probably looking for you, too. You couldn't let them find Sharon first. If you found Sharon, you were in the clear with Break. However, if you don't go after Break, Sharon would end up as your next concern. It was hard to pick who you feared more: Break would kill you if you let Sharon get lost in the forest, but you had no idea what Sharon would do if you let Break be taken by the Baskervilles. Fearful of the thought, you decided that you'd have to save them both.
You begin to walk around, dead leaves crunching under your feet and the cool air blowing against your face. It was one of those days when the wind wanted to play red-light green-light, sometimes blowing through the trees but then stopping altogether. At least it kept you somewhat cool. You trekked through the forest, trying to find Sharon. You continuously called her name, in case she was wandering, too. You hoped you were going the right way...
"Sharon!!" You shouted for the umpteenth time. "Sharon, are you out here?" You waited for a moment, listening for a reply...
"(y/n)-san?" A familiar voice asked. You couldn't help but grin, going in the voice's direction."Sharon, just keep talking!" You shout. "I'm coming!"
"(y/n)-san, I'm relieved you found me!" Sharon said. You turn slightly to your left and keep running. "I was beginning to worry that I'd get lost. I'm glad I had Equus in your shadow!" She had Equus in your shadow this whole time?! "I was a little worried when he lost you, but I supposed you just got too far away."
You saw the familiar girl standing as graceful as ever. Her hair was a little messed up, along with her dress.
"Sharon, are you okay?" You ask as you check her over. "You didn't break a nail or something?" Sharon giggled.
"I'm fine, (y/n)-san," She insisted. "Equus didn't let me get hurt." You sigh with relief."Well, I'm glad you're okay," You said. "Break would've killed me if I lost you in the middle of the forest." Sharon suddenly pulled out her fan and began to fan herself.
"I suppose we should come up with a plan, yes?" Sharon suggested."A plan for what?"
"To rescue Break, of course." Sharon pointed out. Of course—you saw it coming, so at least you thought about it.
"Well, the way I see it, if I'm really the Baskervilles' target, then they'll come looking for me." You explained. "So, maybe if we keep walking, we'll—"
"We're coming, (y/n)-chan~!" A chirpy voice called. You sighed."And there they are..."
Well, I hope you're ready for another choice, reader! The next chapter I publish is what happens if you plan to ditch Break. If you don't want to ditch Break, then you'll have to wait until I post the chapter after that, where you fearlessly head towards the Baskervilles to save Break! Or, perhaps, you have a trick up your sleeve? You'll have to find out! (Seriously, if you don't want to ditch Break, wait until I post the chapter after the next)
