Hello! It's me again! Yup, here comes Chapter 2! Sorry if it seemed to have taken a while—we have a lot going on at my house. My brother's graduating college with a bachelor's degree!! YAY BRO!!! Anyway, enjoy the chapter!
Hmm...Yes, I've decided—I must see her. I'll visit tonight and give a more...formal introduction.
You try to act casual as you wait for the impending attack. Break said he was certain they would arrive today. Good thing he's given you all those lessons in sword fighting, huh?!! For Sharon's sake, she was waiting at the very back of the mansion. Break was practically at the front door, waiting to "greet" the Baskervilles. You were placed between him and Sharon in the middle of the mansion. You didn't like the eerie silence...It felt like the calm before the storm.
Finally, it happened. A loud crash like someone breaking through a window echoed through the mansion, and you knew that it had to be them—the Baskervilles. Only one question remained: where in the mansion were they? You took a deep breath and did as Break had instructed when you all were planning—just walk around calmly and quietly, either finding the Baskervilles or the exit. If it was the exit, you had to retreat to the nearest town. If the Baskervilles, you fought until someone arrived to assist. If they arrived...
You heard the clashing of swords somewhere else. Break's fighting Fang, you realized. No one else had a sword to duel with. So, that means only Lottie and Dug are unoccupied. Unless she was back from Abyss...
Then you saw a pink-headed woman walk around the corner to your left. You readied yourself in a defensive position. Then, Lottie noticed you. She grinned wickedly.
"Ah, (y/n)-chan! Good to see you!" She greeted. "Hey, why'd you run from onee-sama and friends, huh? You had us pretty worried..."
"Jeez, you're impatient..." You muttered."You're taking too long with your mission!" Lottie pointed out. "Where's the Chain, anyway?"
"I'm afraid she's not on my hit list anymore, Lottie." You replied. "It's you guys, now." Lottie sighed, crossing her arms.
"Oh, fu-fu~..." Lottie pouted. "You sided with the Pandora agents, eh? Too bad, you were so close to knowing the truth, too. Oh, well, be as clueless as them!" Wait, what was she talking about? The truth? About what?!! Aw, that's not fair!!! "Dug, you keep her busy." Lottie ordered. "I'm going on a little errand~!" She began to prance off by you, but just before you could begin attacking, Dug slashed at you with his mace. What was Lottie off to do? She went by you...Oh, no. You quickly realized who she was after.
"Sharon!" You shouted unconsciously. You began to retreat from Dug, following Lottie's trail. Oh, man, if she does anything to Sharon, Break's going to kill you! Probably quite literally, too! Oh, man, just like in your dream that you know nothing about!
You heard a familiar shriek echo throughout the mansion's halls. Oh, crap, you thought miserably. That's not good! You pushed yourself to run faster for Sharon's sake, but by the time you saw her...Lottie already had a hand over her mouth and a throwing knife to her neck. You skidded to a halt, fearing if you strayed too close, Lottie would end her. You heard Dug slowly step closer, until he stopped just behind you.
"So, (y/n)-chan..." Lottie began. "Ready to give up, yet? You know that if you take another step, I'll kill her..." You gripped your sword tightly in your hand.
"You dirty cheater..." You muttered."Oh, don't say it like that!" Lottie insisted. "How about, 'the one who gets what she wants?'"
"Why am I so important?" You inquired. "Why am I so important that you have to come all the way over here from Sablier to get me?"
"We discovered something quite interesting about you, (y/n)-chan." Lottie explained. "We had to come here to see if you knew."
"Know what?" You repeated. This might be something bad, but your curiosity had the habit of getting the best of you.
"You're connected to a certain someone from way back when..." Lottie said with a sly smirk. "And I came here to exploit that to aid in Glen-sama's return." You glared at her, but then you looked at Sharon, who had concern written all over her face. That was just like her—not to be scared in this situation...She seemed to be more worried about you than herself, actually. More "Rainsworth's duty" crap, eh? Oh, who knows—it's time to get the Baskervilles out of here.
"Lottie...I'll only come with you if you leave everyone here alone." You stated. "And if I find out that they've been harmed, I'm afraid I won't cooperate." Lottie nodded.
"Alright, kid, deal." She agreed. "Dug, get her to the carriage. Tell Fang to stop distracting the Hatter and get a move on." Dug nodded obediently and led you away. What was Lottie talking about, and how important was it? I guess you're about to find out...BUM BUM BUUUUM~!!!!! Sorry if it seems a bit short—I had to get another chapter in before I went off to my brother's graduation! Can't talk much at the moment, but I hope you had fun reading! Until next time, my loyal readers!!!
