You cold, heartless, monster! How could you leave him?!! Gah, never mind!!! If you want to be selfish, I'll let you. And don't use any of that, "I want to save Sharon," bull crap! That is not going to work!
You began to run with Sharon, away from the Baskervilles.
"(y/n)-san, what are—""I'm getting you out of here," You interrupt. "Because Break's just one guy—you have an entire mansion to look after!" Suddenly there was a sharp pain in the back of your head, making you release Sharon. You look to see that it was actually Sharon who had hit you, and she used the evil death fan she always carried with her.
"I won't leave Break!" She said. "He's been there for me since I was a little girl, and to leave him now isn't right!"
"Sharon, you'll get killed!" You argue."At least I can die knowing that I didn't run." She countered. She began to walk in the direction of the Baskervilles, her fan in hand and her head held high. You sigh and began to run away, towards the exit of the forest. Well, it wasn't an exit, since you ended up back on the path. You let out a sigh of relief and begin to walk down the path, towards a town that sat on the horizon. Then you began to run, since you didn't want the Baskervilles catching up.
When you arrived in the town, the first thing you decided to do was find somewhere to sleep. That proved difficult, though, since 1) you didn't have any money, and 2) you looked like a total wreck from running through the forest. You eventually ended up just standing on a bridge, watching as the sun began to set. You let out another sigh, running your hand through your hair. Let's retrace your actions: you left Break, Sharon left you to save Break, and now you have nowhere to stay, nothing to eat, and you're utterly alone. There was an incredibly thin chance that Oz and his group would find you, but you didn't even know which town you were in. LeBleux? No, that wasn't it. It was a place surrounded by forest, and it was a neat and humble town. It wasn't very big, but that didn't bother you. You didn't favor big towns, very much..."Oh (y/n)-chan~!" A wickedly familiar voice sang as the sun finally set. You gasped and looked, seeing Lottie and the other Baskervilles. You growled. Maybe it would have been a good idea to find the carriage before you ran off? No, the Baskervilles would've been waiting for you...
"What now, Lottie?" You ask.
"You ditched your friends, you meanie," Lottie teased. "Can you guess where they are now?" You remained silent.
"Now one of them is dead and the other is furious." She said. That didn't really aid in figuring out who died... "The Chain was just like the master—weak. Not to mention they both seem menacing, they really have nothing to show. The master didn't know what to do after the Chain died." That only meant one person.
"You monsters!" You shouted. "You killed her! How could you kill a young woman of her standards?!!"
"Just as we send the Vessalius boy to Abyss, (y/n)-chan!" Lottie replied. "It wasn't hard, since she didn't have any weapons. Her Chain was all she had! Oh, how humorous it was when her Chain was defeated. She relied on it too much, and that led to her downfall." You growled from the bottom of your throat. If you lived to see Break again, he would murder you. Literally.
"So, (y/n)-chan, if you don't want to end up like the dear Rainsworth girl bleeding out in the forest, you'll come with us quietly." You yelled at the top of your lungs as you charged at Lottie. They're going to send you to Abyss, which would kill you anyway, so your actions didn't matter at this point. Sharon was dead because of you, and even if you and Break got away, again, Break would literally kill you. Lottie easily stopped your attack by throwing one of her small knives at you, and you barely managed to avoid it. You went in for another attack, but you met face-to-face with Dug's mace. It was the last thing you ever saw before a quick pain and then absolutely nothing.*applause* Good job, reader. Now you and Sharon are dead. Are you proud of your actions? Are you glad that you didn't want to save Break? This just goes to show that if you don't look at other people's needs before your own, it will come back to get you. In this case, since Sharon was brave enough to go and save Break while you weren't, she died as a hero. You died as a cowardly fool who tried to outrun death. But you can't. Let this be a lesson to you: in fanfiction, if you and another character have to save that character's friend (who is treated like family), you do it. Because you know that that's what the character will go do. And if that character dies doing that and you died trying to run, that doesn't make you the hero. It makes it that other character.
