"What is this feeling?" I asked myself as I clenched my chest, my breath was shallow and my heart ached. Is it because I hurt Kuro?
Kuro's POV
Leaning back in my chair I let out a sigh, their was too much paper work for just one person to do, but my father only had me to do. You think a man as rich as my father would be able to hire some secretaries, but even though he has all that money he's still so stingy. Moving backwards, the sound of a squeaking chair rang through the room that was only lit by the lap top screen. I stretched my arms backwards then stood up and stretched my back.
"Onii-chan, dinners ready." Hanako informed me opening the door wide open, filling the room with the hallways light. As she walked away (leaving the office door open) she raised her phone on to her ears. I tried to block out all the nonsense she was spouting but something she said caught my attention.
"No-no Hama-chan! I'm sure he's not mad at you, Onii-chan has never been one to get so easily mad at people." Her words faded away as her heals clacked down the hallway, I wonder who she's talking to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So who were you talking to on the phone?" I asked interrupting Hanako's staring contest with the soup before her.
"Oh-, that was Hamasaki-san, I call her Hama-chan for short." She explained waving her spoon around in the air.
I felt my face grow hot, "Oh uhm... H-how is she?"
Hanako opened her mouth as if she was going to answer but closed her mouth and furrowed her eye brows into a confused look, almost like she was deeply thinking about something. "I think she's okay."
"You think?" I raised an eyebrow at Hanako, then took another spoon of soup.
"Yeah, I don't really know, she's just worried that your angry with her. Apparently she snapped at you when she was at the book store?" Hanako told me and leaned back in her chair, staring at me straight in the face.
"Well, I didn't really consider that snapping..." I started then lowered my voice, looking down at my soup, hoping she wouldn't hear me. "It was cute how she was trying to protect something close to her." I remembered when she first heard Mrs. Yosimigi was planning on selling the book store, her face was red and she had a worried yet annoyed look at her face, however it was still cute seeing how passionate she was about it.
However, when I raised my head to look atHanako, she had a huge grin on her face. She put her elbow on the table and rested her head on the palm of her hand. "You do realize she's 19 right?"
"Is that a threat?" I asked, although she said it in more of a teasing way, than a threatening way.
"Nope, I hope you and Ms.Otaku get together, you two would make the ultimate virgin couple." Hanako teased and gave me a mischievous laugh.
I choked on my soup and spat it out everywhere, quickly grabbing a napkin I tried to clean it up, but was interrupted by Hanako's sarcastic whistling. "You really don't have any experience with women."
Tch. Says the girl who can't keep a steady relationship.... I retorted in my head.
"I wouldn't worry about it though."Hanako put in her sass fading away.
"Worry about what, the age difference or the fact I have no clue how women work." I asked looking at Hanako with obvious disapproval, yet she ignored it. Instead she just shrugged and crossed her legs.
"Well, Hama-chan is in no way like normal women, so you have as much as a chance of figuring her out as any other guy out there. And as for the age thing..." Hanako's voice trailed off so I stopped cleaning and looked back up at her, to see her mischievous grin had returned. "Hama-chan has a HUGE Father complex, and seeing as you remind her of her father...."
My eye brow twitched and I gave her an annoyed face, "How do you even know that?"
"For a girl like me, Hama-chan is incredibly easy to read..huehuehue."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to Aiko-chans POV!
"Are you sure he's not mad at me?" I asked Hanako, tightly holding the warm phone against my face.
"No-no Hama-chan! I'm sure he's not mad at you, Onii-chan has never been one to get so easily mad at people." Hanako comforted me. That makes a lot of sense, Kuro does seem like someone who wouldn't get easily upset with people.
"A-anyways! I should still apologize! Do you think we could... m-ma-maybe, g-go ou-t on t-tuesda-y an-d ge-et..." My faced got really hot so I buried it in the pillow in front of me, unable to speak.
"Ohohohohohooh, you want to get dressed up and get onii-chan an apology gift don't you?" Hanakoteased.
I nodded slowly, but realizing Hanako couldn't see my nod I quickly spoke up. "Y-yes..."
"Okay, I'll meet you in front of Akibara station at 12! Anyways, I have to eat dinner, see you on Tuesday!"
"W-Wai-t H-H-hono-" I was cut off by a long buzz, Hanako was already gone...
--------------------------------------------------------------
Tuesday came in a blink of an eye, I got dressed up as best I could, using the limited clothes in my closet, but it was only Hanako so I wasn't that worried. Although, I felt quite nervous, my heart was pounding and every sound around me startled me, it's not like I was waiting for a date, I didn't know why I was so nervous. Closing my eyes, I tried to focus on something else.
It was a Business day so there weren't many people out, only a couple here and there. I was thankful Hanako was taking me out and helping me with my apology, but it was so easy. I was worried she had something else up her sleeve. I'm not really in the mood to be caught off guard so I'm hoping everything will just go smoothly.
The sky was clear, the sun beating down on my face, warming it from the cold atmosphere. Fall was my favorite time of year, you can turn off your air conditioning, poor a cup of hot cocoa, hide under the blankets and do nothing but read manga and watch your favorite shows. It's every lazy person's favorite holiday. My refreshing memories of fall were interrupted by a siblings bickering.
"Why did you drag me here, I have a lot of work to do at home!"
"Oh come on, you deserve a break, if you stay in the room all day you'll turn into an unmarried otaku that's obsessed with work! I won't let you hit rock bottom like that!"
I turned to get a glance at the bickering siblings, and felt like I was hit with a bag of bricks. She would.
"Hama-chan!" Hanako yelled waving at me, pulling her brother towards me, with her. My face got really hot and I tried to resist the urge to run away, seeing as that would only make things worse. I need to face my problems now!
