"I'll miss you so much Calum." I say and wipe a tear from my eye. "I love you."

"I love you too baby." Calum sniffs. "So much. But I'll be back soon! Really soon, next weekend." He says with a smile. I kiss him one more time and his mom gives me a hug and they leave. I close my dorm does behind them. I smile thinking about everything that happened and lean against the door. I startle as the door pushes against me and I jump away from the door as Eddie walks in.

"Hey Lucas Pucas." He grins at me and just stands there, staring at me with that dumb grin still on his face for the next 30 seconds.

"What?!" I finally say.

"Did you and your boyyyfriennddd have fun??" He grins and winks. I roll my eyes and walk away. "I came back to get something I forgot but I heard the moaning and decided I could live without it." He says with a laugh. I feel my face turn red and I chuckle.

My phone rings the next morning and wakes me up. I rub my eyes and grab it. It's Calum. I slide to answer and smile as I hear his voice.

"Luke?"

"Yes babe?"

"You're not gonna believe this." He says and it sounds like he's crying. I perk up and sit up in bed.

"What?! What happened are you okay??"

"Better than okay Luke. The most amazing thing-" he stops and lets out a sob.

"Calum-"

"Just listen Luke. There's this surgery- they basically remove the clouded lenses in your eyes and insert a synthetic lens- it cures blindness- don't say anything yet. And it only takes 15 minutes and costs 300 dollars-" he lets out another sob. "I'm going to the doctor for a consultation right now."

"Calum- oh my god-" I say and start crying uncontrollably. He joins me and Eddie wakes up.

"The fuck mate-" he says looking groggy.

"We're almost there. I have to go. I love you."

"I love you more-" I say, and he hangs up. I'm somewhere between crying and laughing. I'm so happy I don't know what to do.

"What this fuck is going on-" says Eddie. He's a little groggy.

"Calum- he's getting surgery. To fix his eyes-" I say and continue to smile and cry uncontrollably.

"Oh wow Luke- that's amazing. I'm so happy for you both."

I dial my moms number quickly and she picks up after three rings. "Hello?"

"Mom- I need to come home for a little bit."

"Luke- why?"

"Calum is having eye surgery to get his vision back."

"What- really?"

"Yes. I'll tell the the- whoever I have to tell- and I need you to come get me as soon as possible. Like today."

"Okay- I'll be there in a few hours."

"Thank you Mom. Love you." I say and hang up, jumping up and running to my closet, throwing a few tee shirts and two pairs of jeans into a small bag and then put my toothbrush and toothpaste in there and run back out into the main room, grabbing a water and my phone charger and headphones.

"Well- bye I guess?" Says Eddie. "Is she like coming right now?"

"No- I have a couple hours I'm just- so excited. I have to go to the office to tell them and then- I don't know what I'll do after that."

"Wanna get ice cream?" Asks Eddie and stands up, slipping pants on over his boxer briefs and throwing on a t-shirt.

"Yeah." I smile. "That sounds great."

"I'll have a double scoop of mint chocolate chip in a cup with peanuts on top. What do you want Luke? I'm paying."

"No- I'll pay." I say.

"No, really. I got it. As a celebration." He smiles.

"okay." I grin. "I'll have a single scoop of cookie dough in a cup."

"Is that it?" Asks the cashier. We nod. "That'll be 6.24." Eddie hands her 10 dollars and tells her to keep the change and we go sit down at a table.

"Thank you Eddie." I say and smile.

"Don't thank me. So. How long will you be gone?"

"Calum says his surgery is setup for tomorrow. But I want some time with him, so a week."

"Gotcha. Is there any health risks to the surgery?"

"No, none. It's a miracle surgery really. If you wanna read about it it's on 20x20x20.org. I read about it on there earlier."

"It sounds awesome." He says and smiles. I look down at my phone. Only 30 minutes til my mom will be here.

"In 3 hours, I'll get to see you." Says Calum and smiles.

"I know baby. It's amazing."

"Calum? Are you ready?" The doctor asks and Calum nods vigorously. I kiss him quickly and we exchange I love yous and he gets wheeled out.

20 minutes go by and Calum comes out in a wheel chair with bandages on his eyes.

"It went great." Says the doctor. "He can take the bandages off in 2 hours and as soon as we test his vision after that, he's ready to go home. I feel tears start to pour down my face.

"are you okay Calum?" I ask and smile.

"Amazing." He says. "It barely hurt." He gives me a huge smile and oh my god I love him.

"Now I will warn you Cal, I'm not looking my best today." I giggle.

"I can't wait to see you. Holy shit I get to see your face and everything." He says.

Now we wait two hours.
