I awake early the next morning to Eddie screaming at something and I rub my eyes, sitting up.

"OH. DAMN. REALLY? SERIOUSLY?" He's talking on the phone but hangs up quickly. He puts it down on the desk and turns to me. "Get up, Lucas. We have to handle something."

"What?" I say, confused, rubbing my eyes and stretching.

"Remember that girl named Phillis I said I wanted to hook you up with before I knew you were a big fat gay?" He says with a grin and I roll my eyes before nodding. "Well, it seems that she's gotten herself arrested for underage drinking and needs us to bail her out. And you're coming."

"What time is it?" I ask groggily.

"4 am." He says, and I groan, flopping down on my back. "Come on. Put some pants on your scrawny self."

After stalling for a moment I get up and pull on some black jeans and a flannel shirt and try for a moment to fix my quiff, but quickly give up. I pull on my black converse and we head out in the pitch black to Eddie's car. I climb into the passenger seat and buckle my seat belt while Eddie quickly starts the car.

"Now. I'm going to warn you, Phillis is an interesting person. She might make out with you. She makes out with me sometimes. She makes out with girls sometimes. She just likes to make out. She kind of.. a free spirit. Don't take it

personally."

"I.. won't?" I say.

"Good." He says, and a few minutes later we arrive at the jail. We walk in and I sit down on a chair while he bails her out. She walks out a moment later. She has long brown hair tied up into a messy bun and she's wearing a tight neon tank top and jean shorts. Where could she have been at 4 am wearing that?

"Phillis, this is Luke, my new room mate." He says as they walk over to me. I stand up and smile awkwardly.

"Well, hello Luke." she says with a grin. "He's hot." She says as she turns to Eddie. She's obviously not shy.

"Yeah, well he's taken." Says Eddie. "I was going to try to set him up with you, though."

"Damn. Well, I'm here if you need a rebound or something." She says with a wink.

"Yeah, I don't think you're his type." Says Eddie as I follow them out of the building.

"Well, what is your type?" she asks, falling behind Eddie to walk next to me.

"Er... Guys." I say awkwardly.

"Ah. I see. A flaming homosexual." she says with a grin. "So, we can make out then, right?"

"I'm, uh... Not exactly sure that's how it works..." I say

"Damn." Says Phillis. "Shot gun!!" she calls, and dashes to the passenger side of Eddie's car. I roll my eyes and climb in the back. And I'm asleep before I know it.

Classes on Thursday are slow and terrible. Trig. English. History. Art. Borrrrinnnnggg. After classes, Eddie,

Phillis and I walk back to Eddie's and my room. We finish the large amount of homework we've been assigned, and by the time we're done (and took a break to eat), it's 10 pm. I flop down on my back and take a deep breath in, throwing my pen down after finishing my last equation. Phillis, who (surprisingly) has straight As, has been done for about half an hour and is helping Eddie with his Latin homework.

"Done." Groans Eddie a moment later. "Alright, I'm breaking out the alcohol. Who wants some?" Phillis and I both raise our hands and Eddie laughs. "Even you, Lucas?"
