CHAPTER NINE
"What happen?" I asked her.
"Guess who's here?"
"Who?" her expression is making me nervous.
"Xander. I saw him a while ago," she said.
"Now, let us call on..." napatingin kami sa MC. "The major sponsor of this night's event... Mr. Alexander Alvaro."
We were shocked. Alvin just smiled as if he already knew. Nagbigay ng speech si Xander. Our eyes met. He didn't change much. He is still handsome. But. He is alot sexier now. Alot.
I drank beverage to help me calm down. I am afraid of meeting him. Please. Not now. Now that I have moved on and successful.
"There you are, Tara," my manager called. "May ipapakilala ako sa iyo. Come with me. He wants to meet you."
He dragged me. Parang alam ko kung sino ang taong iyan. Mas lalo akong kinabahan. Sana kainin na ako ng mga paintings ko ngayon din.
"Tara, meet Xander. The reason behind this event. Xander, this is Tara, my talent." pakilala ng manager ko sa aming dalawa.
"Long time no see, Tara," he stretched his hand. He is emotionless. He isn't surprised.
I smiled. I offered my hand. Matagal-tagal bago niya binitawan ang kamay ko.
"Oh. You two knew each other?" my manager asked.
"Yeah. Same high school." I answered casually.
"Oh good. Then I can leave, I have to entertain others, Tara. Is it ok with you Xander?" says my manager.
"Much better," Xander replied.
Ohmaigad. This will be awkward. I need guidance.
"Tara, be nice to him. Entertain him. Kung pwede, sumayaw ka sa stage, gawin mo." pabulong na sabi ng manager ko.
And yeah... My manager left. We are alone. I showed him the other paintings and explain them to him. Sobra ang kaba na nararamdaman ko kahit kumukuha na ako ng inumin na dala ng mga waiters kung makakasalubong sila.
"Nervous being alone with me?" kantyaw niya.
"No. I'm just a heavy drinker," pagsisinungaling ko. Parang nahihilo na ako nito. Obvious kaya?
"Enough of the paintings, Tara. Tell me about yourself," as he pushed my hair behind my ear.
"Nothing much to talk about," I said. Parang nahihilo na talaga ako eh. My eyes felt so heavy. And the last thing I remembered, may tumawag sa pangalan ko at humila sa akin.
