After a hectic first day of school, I went to school for the rest of the week with no problem. Occasionally, I would knock a cup of water over in the canteen or stub my toe against the door. But other than that, nothing compared to the trouble I faced on the the first day of school.
Since school started on a Tuesday, the week ended a day earlier. This meant that I would be meeting all my teammates for the first time as it was the day that they would officially move into the unit opposite of mine.
I sat waiting anxiously in my room for PD-nim to call me out. The rest couldn't move in earlier due to school and family commitments but now that it was the weekend, the company wanted them to settle in before the start of official training next week. I was nervous to meet them but most importantly, I hoped neither of them had an instinct like Jungkook, Jr and Leo where they could tell straight away that I was a girl.
I checked the time on my phone, scrolling through my messages to kill my anxiety. Just as I was about to pace back and forth for the 1000th time, my door swung open.
"PD-nim is calling you" smiled Jin.
Nodding, I stood up and smoothed the wrinkles of my clothes. Running my fingers through my hair, I walked towards the front door of my dorm and stepped out into the hallway.
The front door of the new unit was wide open, voices echoing loudly from within. Taking off my slippers, I walked in to greet my new teammates.
"(Your name)!" I heard a familiar voice call out.
Before I could react, I was engulfed in a tight hug.
"Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch" I said repetitively as the person put pressure on my healing wounds.
"Ah mianhae! Jinja mianh-ahhhh" the person was pulled by the hair onto the floor.
Finally able to take a good look, I was surprised to see Min Gyu on the floor cringing with Hansol's hand buried in his hair.
"What are you guys doing here?!" I said, shocked at their presence.
"We're your new teammates" Min Gyu smiles cheekily up at me.
"Mwo?!" You guys?!" I exclaimed.
Sending me a glance but no response, Hansol walked towards one of the rooms, presumably his, to unpack his belongings. Min Gyu followed after him, leaving me hanging with confusion in the hallway of the apartment.
Walking to their room, I leaned against the doorway with my arms crossed.
"Jankanman....let me get this straight. You guys knew all along that you were my new teammates?" I asked, still incredulous.
Oblivious to my disbelief, they continued to unpack with a simple "hmm" as a response.
"Hey guys! Settled in? I was so lonely sleeping in here alone the whole week" whined S.Coups.
"Hyung! Did you know they were our teammates?!" I exclaimed, confused at his lack of reaction.
"Totally. It says right there on the door anyway." S.Coups responded nonchalantly, laying down on Hansol's bed.
Running to the front door, I saw that it was true. The plaques on the door said the names of the members. Even my shared dorm with BTS had our names engraved on the plaque. Scoffing in disbelief, I stalked back to Hansol's and Min Gyu's room.
"Why didn't I see that from the start?" I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.
Leaning against the doorframe once again, I watched as Hansol grabbed S.Coups by the ankle before pulling him off the bed onto the floor.
Min Gyu and I burst out into laughter as we watched S.Coups rub at his sore derrière. Served him right to even try that with our little fiery ball of attitude.
Walking towards Hansol to help him unpack, I saw something familiar on his desk.
"Hey! Is that my sherbert candy!" I smiled, holding up the coin sized orange ball of sugar.
Poker faced, Hansol snatched it from me and pocketed it. I was really starting to like him a lot. He was like a human pet. So cute.
"So there's four of us here, who's the fifth person?" S.Coups asked.
The boys shrugged and continued what they were doing.
Feeling thirsty I walked out into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. As I filled my cup, I heard the sound of luggage wheels against the tiles of the floor. Looking up, I made eye contact with a.... Boy?
He had long hair and a small sharp face. I almost thought he was a girl for a second if it wasn't for his Adam's apple.
Just then, there was a sound of a flushing toilet and the door swung open to reveal PD-nim.
"Ah! Wasseo?" PD-nim smiled, wiping his wet hands on his jeans.
"The rest of your teammates have already settled in so go unpack and get to know each other arasso? I'll go over to talk to BTS for awhile." He said before leaving the newcomer and I alone in the living room.
Just then, the rest of my teammates came out into the living room.
"Eh?! Jeonghan?!" S.Coups and Min Gyu exclaimed. Even Hansol sent him a wave.
"Annyeong" the new boy said, waving.
"Does everyone know each other?" I flung my hands up in the air in frustration.
First it was Jackson and Mark, then BamBam and V and now them?!
"This is unbelievable. We were in the same dance academy before!" Said Min Gyu.
Sending me a smile, Jeong Han greeted and introduced himself. He was definitely a boy yet his looks were so effeminate. But who was I to judge. If anything, he probably understood me the most with this whole androgyny issue.
"Have you guys settled in?" J-Hope said excitedly, strutting into the dorm like he owned it.
"Ya ya don't touch anything" Jin said, following behind J-Hope.
One after another, all 7 members entered our dorm.
"Oh. Jinja. There's only 4 beds." Jimin commented.
"That's okay! That means uri yeppo gwiyomdungi can stay with us longer" said Suga, slinging an arm around my shoulders.
"Ya. Don't be so loving or Jungkook will get jealous" Rap Mon teased, leaning backwards to avoid getting hit by Suga.
"Oh! Be careful!" I stepped towards Rap Mon as he knocked over our lamp.
Lunging forward, I caught the lamp swiftly before crumpling to the floor in relief.
The boys burst out laughing.
"Just like Namjoon hyung to destroy things without trying" V laughed.
Hansol grabbed my hand to hoist me up, patting off invincible dust from my clothes.
"Oh! We have the opposite of Rap Monster Sunbae!" S.Coups said.
"What do you mean?" Asked Jungkook.
"(Your name)!" S.Coups exclaimed. "While Rap Mon destroys things, (your name) always gets destroyed by things. It's like a match made in heaven!" He laughed.
The boys burst out into another fit of laughter, even Hansol cracked a smile.
"That just means that they should stay away from each other. Because ultimately, (your name) will always be in the receiving end of this terrible, terrible relationship" teased Jungkook, playing off a pitying look.
I scowled at him and hooked my arm around Rap Mon's.
"Nothing is going to happen-" I started before the lights in the dorm suddenly blacked out.
"Oh great" Jimin said
"That was so scary!" Stuttered J-Hope
"Its real!" Laughed V.
Everyone burst out into laughter again.
I guess it looked like I was going to be just fine.
