The blinding light coming from the window wakes me up as i rub my eyes groggily, a few seconds after, my irritating alarm follows. Why did I set my alarm so early? I wonder.
Oh no
Its graduation day.
I've been dreading this day so much, not because were leaving school but because I have to make a speech in front of the whole school and their parents. Im not shy, I'm head girl you see, but being lazy Jennifer, i obviously haven't memorised a single word.I want to stay under my covers forever but I finally give in to getting up when i smell the sweet whiff of pancakes, mum has obviously made my favourite today since shes so excited about graduation.
She's all smiles when i step into the kitchen "Happy graduation Jen!" She beams as she brings me close for a hug. Then dad emerges and gives me a pat on the head "Enjoy your breakfast!".
"Thanks for the pancakes" i say gratefully as i tuck into the sweet heaven. But halfway through, I'm soon interrupted.
"Too bad you'll have to share them" says a familiar voice accompanied by a high pitched giggle. I turn around to see Miley and Taylor, they've been my best friends since 1st grade.
"Who let you in?" I huff
"The door was open" Taylor says with a smile whilst grabbing a plate and a pancake. Miley also makes herself comfortable and completely soaks her pancake in sirup "oops" she mumbles "might've put a bit too much". We all burst out laughing as we finish our breakfast.
•••"Should i go for light pink or hot pink lipstick?" Miley contemplates in my bedroom mirror whilst i worry about my messy hair. "um light pink Miley, were not going to a party" i reply.
Her mousy brown hair falls just above the waist and her short black dress reveals her slim figure, its so unfair she doesn't even exercise.
Taylor also has an ideal body shape although her blond hair falls perfectly at her shoulders. Her best feature has to be her icy blue eyes, all the boys fall for them.I look in the mirror and just settle for a messy bun, it'll have to do. I wear a white cute dress to match my heels and at that very moment i take notice of the time. "Shit! Its 9:10, its starting in 20 minutes!" I panic.
The two girls hurry after me down the stairs and into the car where my parents are waiting.
"You took your time didn't you" my mum remarks sarcastically as we speed off for the last time to school.
