*Irish's POV*
"Hey Mom! What's for dinner?" I yelled as I ran to the kitchen.
I just woke up from a long nap. Its the weekend so I got my time to spend with my family. I saw George at the couch playing his new games on playstation I had bought him. He almost dropped his crutches in excitement. I was glad he's doing better now.
"Chicken curry and corn soup sweetie. Would you mind helping Mom?" Mom asked, her voice sweet as always.
"Sure thing." I then wore my apron and walked towards her.
After a couple of hours, Sofie arrived. We squealed and hugged the moment we saw each other.
"I'm glad you made it tonight!" I said, pinching her cheeks.
"Me too. By the way, I brought you some salad." She said, smiling at me and Mom. Despite of her smile, I could see deep in her blue eyes something's wrong.
"Thank you, dear. I think we should set the table now so we can have our dinner." Mom suggested.
~~~~~
"So how's the business stuff you're working?" Mom asked, out of the blue.
"Oh. That thing." I said, lacking to compose a sentence.
"Yes? Is there any problem?" Mom asked, sounded worried.
"No, Aunt. Actually, I was planning to put up a boutique and I asked Irish for some help but I was having second thoughts about it now so I don't think I'm gonna push through it." Sofie quickly replied.
"How about your job? You've just resigned at Starbucks right?" Mom questioned.
"Um yea. but after Sofie and I talked about the abolished plan, I-I got a job as a personal assistant in a company so don't you worry Mom." I said, nervously. I've never lied to my Mom. I mean I did but not with like this kind of serious matter.
"Which company?" George intruded.
"The. uh. The. One. One Di-"I stammered.
I hold on for a second.I need to invent a name of a company. Dammit. My mind was corrupted that it couldn't process thoughts properly. Please just for now. As I was thinking of a name, a red truck passed by our house with "Diamond State" written in it. I turned to them and say it out loud.
"One-Diamond State!"
"What?" Sofie asked.
"I'm working at One-Diamond State Inc. In short, 1DSI. Yeah. Their name is so creative right? and bright.. like a diamond." I said as my voice slowly vanished.
George laughed. It seemed like he knew that I was joking or something.
Sofie was looking at me with her what-the-heck-is-that face.
"And they offer their employees including me a place to stay in and that's where I'm staying now." I finished.
"So you have room mates?" George asked.
"Yeah. I share an apartment with five boy-- girls that are so lovely." I replied, my palms sweating.
"Can we visit you there?" George asked again.
"No!" I replied quickly.
My face looked pale as they all turned their attention on me.
"And why not?" George asked suspiciously.
"Uh. What I mean is, they don't allow visitors there though I'd love to see you more often. Don't worry, I'll be here every weekends so you guys won't miss me too much. Sorry mom if we're only telling you all of this now. Things just happened so fast." I said, guiltily.
"I understand baby. In fact, that sounds nice. Now, I don't need to worry what my princess is up to." She smiled at me, feeling some kind of relief.
"If you only knew Mom." I thought as I gave her a reassuring smile.
~~~~~
After dinner, Sofie helped me clean the kitchen. We kissed mom goodnight as we marched towards my room.
"Phew. That was close. I cant bear lying to my Mom. Ugh." I said as I planked on my bed.
" I really don't know how did you come up with that pathetic idea but I think we have convinced Aunt with it." she replied.
"I think worst but whatever." I smirked.
Our laughters suddenly quieten. I could see my best friend's face turned into a little sad kid.
"Babe, is there a problem? I thought you and Aaron are gonna go out of town yesterday?" I asked.
"We broke up last night. I saw him cheating on me with that Cathy Whore." she replied.
"Wait, you mean Cathy Moore,our high school mate?" I asked.
"Yes and she's a whore. I never thought he could do this to me. I loved him and he knows that but he seemed to be not contented." she said, tears streaming down her lovely face.
"Babe, you shouldn't cry over that bastard. He's not worth your tears okay? I'll help you get over him and I'm always here to save your ass baby." I enveloped her in a warm hug , trying to comfort her.
She let out a little laugh. "I know and I love you for that."
