Chapter 19

Jess's POV:

Mavis was giving me Fairy Law when I caught a glimpse of him. "Why are you here?" I yell at him. Zeref was still on the ground. He can't hurt him. "I'm going to defeat him," he says defiantly.

"What the hell are you talking about, Natsu!" I yell at him. "This is my brother. My fight. I have to do this," he says. "Natsu! This is my fight! He took advantage of me! He took me away from all of you! He deceived me!" I screamed at him. It surprised him, but he didn't back off. Damn him!

Mavis finished giving me Fairy Law. I can now use the spell. I didn't bother telling Natsu though. "Natsu! I'm the only one who can defeat him! Why won't you listen to me?" I screamed at him. "Because... I still.. I still love you goddamnit! I have to protect you! I don't know what I'd do if my own brother killed you!" he screamed at me.

Now, that  surprised me. "Goddamnit Natsu!" I yelled at him. He smirked. Zeref began getting up. "I leave this to you two. Please do what I couldn't," Mavis says as the image of her disappears. This is all up to us.

I nod my head towards Natsu. He does the same. We are going to defeat him together. As a whole. But, when Natsu can't go on any longer I'll use Fairy Law. I don't want to reveal to him that I have it. Plus, I could avoid using that attack.

"Ya ready?" he asks me. I nod my head. "Fire Dragon's Crushing Fang!" he yells as he attacks. "Rain of Light!" I yell as I make my attack. The two do well together surprisingly. Zeref is hit, but he does not take any significant damage.

"Grr," Natsu growls in frustration. We need to defeat Zeref soon before we run out of stamina. "Light Cannon!" I yell as it appears in my arms. I attack Zeref. He is hit, but yet again no significant damage. This isn't looking good. I may have to use Fairy Law.

"Lightning Flame Dragon Mode!" Natsu yells as bursts of both lightning and flames surround him. "Lightning Flame Dragon's Fist!" Natsu yells as he attacks Zeref. Again, the attack hits but no significant damage. Damn!

"Light Sword!" I yell as it appears in my hand. I run up to Zeref and begin my attack. I slash, but he blocks. He forms his own sword. We battle it out sword combat. "Damnit!" I say in frustration as Zeref begins to take the lead in our little battle.

"Hmph," he smirks pushing me down. "Come on Jess!" Natsu cheers me on. I suddenly get motivation. The tables turn as I begin to push Zeref down. Zeref bounces backwards away from me. "Lightning Dragon's Brilliant Flame!" Natsu yells as he takes over for me.

I regain my stamina. Time to go back in. Will I survive this battle? Can we really defeat Zeref? I shake my head in frustration clearing those thoughts. We have to. Better try then think. I begin to devise a strategy.

Natsu begins to go into Dragon Force. Perfect! This is what I was devising! "Hidden Fire Form," Natsu begins, "Crimson Lotus: Phoenix Blade." Natsu almost whispers it. He says it in a very scary tone I guess you could say.

He attacks Zeref. While Zeref is distracted, I go to his blind spot. I better go ahead and use Fairy Law. I mean yeah I don't want to use it, but it doesn't look like I have much of a choice. "Fairy Law!" I yell. 

They both look at me in confusion. I cast the spell. "Damn that Mavis!" Zeref yells. "Wha?" Natsu says confused, typical. Bright light envelopes the area. I cover my eyes from the bright light. Once it clears, I can clearly see the effect of the spell. But to my surprise...

Zeref is still standing there.

I begin to fall back. This did more damage than expected. I fall onto the ground. "Jess!" Natsu screams. Zeref just laughs. Natsu tries to come running towards me, but Zeref stops him.
