It's time. The chess game. We went to the venue. This is who came for Hemmings Zacresto:
Me
Marissa
Cherry
Rod
Nicco
Travis
Bea Bianca
Basically the squad.

Before that, Marissa and I rented a mini van which was spray painted "We Are The Winners." It was perfect for us. We picked them up one by one in that list order and we opened the doors like badasses.

Champs was just some annoying bitches.

"Ready to play?" Champs fuckboy number 1 said.

"Let's do this, bitch!" Marissa said.

She took the first turn. Then it was Bea Bianca. Then it was Travis.

We basically agreed that I had to take the last move because I'm the one who can easily trick them.

We were aiming at 20 games. Since Marissa is low key an amazing Chess player, we won 9 games. Champs won 1.

I was studying cherry's face. She was very surprised at every move. Oddly, no laugh. She must be very serious about this game.

Break time.

We had hot Cheetos and kit Kats as snacks/ energy food.

"Remember guys, we gotta win this!" Marissa said.

"Those fuckboys will choke in my quarter!" Cherry said. That's her thing. A vending machine kept giving back her quarters, so she cussed it out by saying "You will choke in my quarter!"

"That's the spirit cherry!" Marissa motivated.

"Jen, no matter what happens, I'll always be by your side." Travis said.

I'm not blushing cuz I'm not really affected.

Marissa saved me.

"Travis, this isn't a thing where Jen might die.."

That reminded me of the last chapter.

"What if I smoke vape to distract them?" Nicco suggested.

"Bro, this isn't a poker game. But, it could work." I said.

We tried making conversations during the games.

"So, how long have you been a loser?" I said as I took his pawn.

"Uh, you're gonna be the one losing this time."

"So you admit you're a loser?" I burned that mothafucka.

"No!" He said trying to figure out a move. He made one, but it wasn't very good. He had the chance to steal my queen, but nah.

I moved my queen and won that game.

"Bam bitch!" Cherry yelled out.

HZ 10. Champs 1.

We're gonna win this.

We're on game 19.

We're almost tied.

Travis is supposed to make this last move that would help us win. But he made a lousy move. The guy from champs got to our side.

I thought to myself, "you know what travis, I never really liked you."

But don't worry. If we win this game, then we're the winners!

The score is 19 to 19.

I realized, I'm making the last move. And I have to say, this is tough. With whatever move I do, it's very possible for them to get on our side.

I tried to concentrate and figure out how to do this last move. I'm afraid. My hands are sweating. Cherry is breathing in my ear. That pressures me more cuz they're watching me.

"Anytime now, badass!" One boy said.

"DONT RUSH ME FUCKBOY!" I burned back and put my hand on my chin to pretend I was really thinking hard on my next move. I really had nothing.

We're not allowed to help each other. Apparently they consider it "cheating." Dumbasses.

Cherry and Marissa distracted them so I can think without pressure. They went over the champs side and laughed in their faces non stop.

Remember back in chapter one my friend from Champs, Jon green? Well he finally transferred to HZ. They're rubbing it in my face about the transfer.

"You know, your school really sucks cuz you guys are transferring to mine."

He just mumbled something.

Then I saw it. I didn't realize that I had a king Right near the last move! It was literally hiding!

I'm legally blind.

I can't believe I didn't see it! Right at the edge of the board was my winning ticket!

I moved my king and took his horse piece.

CHECKMATE!!!

ME AND EVERYBODY (except the champs boys) SCREAMED WITH JOY!!

A CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE WAS POPPED!
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾

HEMMINGS ZACRESTO WON THE FINAL BATTLE!!!

Rod and Travis took out a beatbox and played the backstreet boys song "everybody" and we had a dance party!

I told the principal and she said that even though it was wrong to have a secret battle, it helped the school.

We did it.

We won.
