The Gift of Dancing (Book 5 of the Ava and Mia Series)

Chapter 9

We hear clapping and Baylee comes back Into the room. She just finished her set and Bea is doing hers now. She needs to change into our reindeer costume. Me and Ruby are helping her with that. I'm hanging up her dress she's in now and Ruby has the reindeer costume ready. I undo her tape on her hardshoes and untie them so she can put on her soft shoes. We hear clapping and Bea comes back in and Baylee is ready! Go costume changes!

Silver bells goes on for the next dance, Iza is doing her set then we're up! Ahhhhh!

We all talk through the dance together in a little huddle and before we know it, we hear hardshoes and King of the Faries! We rush back into line and wait.

She finishes with a loud bang. Cue clapping, she comes back In and we all walk out. The music goes on and muscle memory kicks In and then we're in our final pose. Woah that went by so fast! We bow and walk off. We all take a picture together really quickly because Me and Baylee need to change.

We're doing the U12 8-hand that won at oireachtas with a little step down the line. For this we're wearing this dress with a white top and red polka doted skirt. We pin a matching red bow in the back of our hair and we rush into place just in time. I grab Izabelles hand and we walk on behind Bea and Rayen. Our team is Me, Izabelle, Rayen, Bea, Baylee, Laila, Nora and Tifanny. We world qualified but me and Baylee aren't going. They're sending Teri and Caitlin in our place so this is our last time doing this team together until nationals training if they decide to put us back in... We do the 8 hand reel and I'm a lady. Izabelle is a really good team dancer. I can always rely on her in these dances. We finish and bow, then form a line and each do one reel step down the line.

I do my new lead that I learned after oireachtas. It's really fast and I love it! We all do a little step at the end then do hop 123s around the stage then off of it.
Vera is rushing to change her hard shoes because her set is next. She does it but she's a bit tired and her set is long... From what I could hear it sounded good.

Now I'm off until the next act. We all sit in our little area and play the game of life on Baylee's IPad until the act is done. Now it's time to get ready for act 2!
