Bonnie left Kol feeling both happy and guilty she didn't know why she felt guilty she just did. Bonnie walked out of the cave and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Klaus, "you just couldn't stay away from him could you?", Klaus said, "was it really to incredibly hard to keep a distance from the man that ruined your life?"
Bonnie frowned, "Kol didn't ruin my life Klaus you had more part in that then anyone".
Klaus smirked," I suppose I have and I wouldn't want to make matters worse". His smile faded and he looked at Bonnie with disdain, "Stay away from him Bonnie I'm not going to tell you again you bring to much sorrow and suffering into Kol's life and I don't need him weaken by another Bennet witch".
Bonnie furrowed her eyebrow,"another Bennet witch", she thought.
"Well i'm leaving now you don't have to worry about me returning", Bonnie said confidently she wasn't going to let Klaus see her in a vulnerable state of mind. She turned around and started to leave but then stopped and looked back at Klaus, "he loves me Klaus".
Klaus looked at Bonnie and mentally sighed,"That's why he's in here your a burden to him. Love is weakness he doesn't need that". Klaus disappeared in the cave leaving Bonnie pondering over what he said. The words he had said he struck her like a knife to heart. Was he right? Was she Kol's burden to carry? Was he hers?
Bonnie went to Elena's house and straight to her room she layed across the bed and starred at her reflection in the mirror on her desk. Her eyes traveled across the desk and she noticed her red ruby necklace Kol gave her a while back she got up and walked over to the dresser she picked it up the and looked at it.
Flashback -
"I can't believe your making me walk threw the park", Kol whined
"It's not bad Kol lots of couples do this", Bonnie said
Kol raised an eyebrow and smirk, "Couple? are you making us official Bonnie Bennett?"
Bonnie chuckled then smiled, " yes I am"
Kol stopped and stood in front of her, "I'm so glad you said that cause now I can give you this", Kol took out a red ruby necklaces with silver swirls around the ruby he put it around her neck and it began to glowed. Bonnie held it in her hand smiling down at it, "I love Kol it's beautiful", she looked up at him he was grinning from ear to ear. "It looks magnificent on you", he said. Bonnie wrapped her arms around Kols neck and kissed him when she pulled away she saw a spark in Kol's eyes she had never seen before.
"I love you Bonnie".
Bonnie was shocked for a moment it was the first time Kol had said that to her she was surprised he could even say those words let alone feel them. A smile spread across her face and she kissed him again this time with more passion.
Present-
Bonnie put the necklace on and it glowed a smile spread across her face as she held the jewel in her hand. Down stairs the door opened and Jeremy walked in the silence in the house made him uncomfortable whenever it was too quiet something bad always happens.
"Elena!", he called out, "Bonnie!"
Bonnie hurried down the stairs the tone in Jeremy's voice worried her, "whats wrong", she asked.
Jeremy shook his head,"nothing everything's fine".
Bonnie frowned, "don't scare me like that Jeremy".
Jeremy pulled Bonnie into a hug and hide his face in her neck, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to".
Bonnie hugged him back. Jeremy pulled away and smiled at her, "let's do something normal for once".
Bonnie raised an eyebrow, "like what?"
"Let's watch a movie Elena got The Silver linings for her and Damon but we can watch it".
"Alright", Bonnie went over to the couch and sat down while Jeremy put the DVD in and pressed play he sat down next to Bonnie and glanced at her,"are you ok?", he asked.
"Yeah why?".
"You seem tense".
"Can you blame me".
Jeremy shrugged," I guess not with the way our lives are now it's impossible to just chill for a day".
The movie started to play and Bonnie layed her head on Jeremy's shoulder halfway threw the movie Bonnie fell asleep and Jeremy carried her to bed. He watched Bonnie sleep soundly and sighed, "I wanted to leave you in that alternate world of yours with Madison and Eric and the rest of them". when Bonnie didn't respond he kept talking, "You were happy....until Kol showed up I'll never understand why you love him so much". Jeremy left out the room and met Elena in the hallway she looked at him sympathetically, "Jeremy-".
"Don't", he said cutting her off he went into his room and closed the door, "Just give him some time", Damon said standing in her doorway.
Elena jumped,"when did you get here?".
"A few minutes ago", Damon smirked.
The next morning Bonnie was first to wake up she had rough time sleeping after Jeremy had put her to bed. She got up and walked out of her room and went down stairs. "Good morning", a voice that shouldn't have been there said. Bonnie froze at the bottom of the steps, "Kol?"
"I believe I am", he smirked
"What are you doing here?", Bonnie whispered.
"You don't have whisper Bonnie no one is awake I'm here to see you".
Bonnie was confused for many reasons one being how the hell did he get out the cave and another being how did he get in the house, "by the way darling you look ravishing". Bonnie rolled her eyes she knew how she looked and it was far from ravishing this made Kol smile.
"You said you were here to see me why?", asked
Kol twisted the glass in his hand, "I'm leaving", he said avoiding eye contact.
Bonnie face fell she felt like she had just been hit in the chest, "you can't", she mumbled.
Kol stood up from the stool he was sitting on and walking over to her, "I have to the longer I stay here the worst things get for you i'm bad for you Bonnie I'm a burden in your life. I let my own wants control me as I always do but not this time I can be better I want to be better for you", Kol placed his hand on Bonnie's face," I love you", he said.
With his eyes locked on hers he took a step closer closing the distance between them Bonnie's heart began to race the thought of Kol hearing it made her blush. She realized this would be the last time she saw those soft brown eyes it would be the last time she saw his cocky smirk felt his lips on hers and she didn't want to let him go. As the tension grew to be almost unbearable Kol's lips met Bonnie's the warmth of his mouth against hers lit a spark inside of her. Then the kiss was over Kol leaned his forehead against hers both their eyes still closed he didn't want to let her go every fiber in his body wanted to stay Bonnie was his salvation his only true joy in the cold harsh world he lived in. It was because of this he made the choice to leave. When Bonnie opened her eyes Kol was gone and the front door was left wide open. The sound of footsteps on the stairs made Bonnie turn around Jeremy was standing at the Bottom of the first set of stairs. "Where's he going?, Jeremy asked. Bonnie looked back at the opened door, "I don't know".
