I walked down the quiet halls of the school. Everyone was in class.
As I approached my locker, I noticed I was still in my gym clothes. I started to walk down the halls to the change room.
I could hear a new class of kids playing dodgeball in the gym.
Once I arrived at the boys change room, I saw that my clothes weren't on the bench where I left them.
I bet anything Hudson took them to make me angry. Well it worked.
I walked over to the mirrors to see how bad my head looked.
It looked horrible. I had a big red lump on my forehead.
"Ugh." I grumbled.
I put my hand on the bump softly. Suddenly my head pulsed with pain. I winced.
"Great." I said under my breath.
I walked out of the change room and headed back towards my locker again.
I saw kids bored to death in the classrooms that I passed.I reached my locker and opened it up. A mound of papers exploded on me. I tried grab my books and binder from the mess. Once I retrieved it, I did the best I could at closing my locker.
My last class was Social Studies and luckily it was right beside my locker, so I didn't have to walk far.
I opened the door slowly and every eye in the room was on me.
"Mr. Gecker. Glad you could finally join us." Mrs. Miller said, her tone sounded grumpy, as usual.
Mrs. Miller was an old lady about sixty or seventy years old. She has grey hair that she always ties up in a bun. Her skin is saggy and she has bags under her eyes. Probably from dealing with high school kids all her life. That has also made her the grouchiest teacher ever.
"Sorry. I was at the nurses office." I said sheepishly.
"Take your seat." She grumbled.
As I walked down the aisle to my seat in the back next to my best friend Henry, I couldn't help but feel all the kids cold eyes on me.
I got to my seat as quickly as I could. I just wanted the lesson to continue.
"Sorry Geecker. You just gotta learn how to catch." Hudson turned around and whispered to me.
I glared at him, which made him chuckle.
"You okay?" Henry asked me.
I nodded, "Yeah I'm fine."
Henry has dark brown, shaggy hair that went to his ears. He has ocean blue eyes and a round face. People always say he has a baby face. He's not that popular, like me, but he's really good with people. He's super nice, he could make the meanest person in the world smile.
"Are you going to the towns anniversary banquet tonight?" He asked me.
"Yeah, of course. If I didn't go my parents would kill me." I answered.
Mrs. Miller must've heard us because she turned around and placed her icy cold eyes on us.
We stopped talking.
