"Who's Lucian?" I asked.

Williams face was plastered with worry and sadness. He walked over to a bookshelf and grabbed an old looking book.

He walked back to where he was standing and put the book on the coffee table.

The book was hard covered and a dark burgundy. The title was in gold saying 'η εθνική κυβέρνηση του βαμπίρ'.

"What's that?" I asked. I had no idea what that language was above all even read it.

"It's Greek, it says 'the vampire government'." William replied.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion, "There's a government for vampires?" I asked.

William nodded.

"Yes, they control mostly everything we do. This is a whole set of rules and the history of the government." He said.

"It's not like we follow any of the rules though." Thomas mumbled.

William glanced behind his back at Thomas but decided to ignore his comment.

"Lucian is in this book." William said as he started to flip through the old stained pages. He finally stopped at a page with a slight tear in the far left corner, "Here he is." William said.

He was pointing at an ink drawing of the man that turned me in the grocery store. Except, he didn't look all dark and dangerous in the book. He looked like, a well mannered, old fashioned person. His black hair was a bit curly and went to the bottom of his ears. He wore a beret looking hat with a long feather on it. His clothing looked like he was a wealthy man although I couldn't see much for the picture only showed his face and barely his shoulders. Beside the drawing was his name written in careful handwriting.

"How old is this?" I asked. That was the first question that popped in my mind.

"Mid 1300s." William replied.

I almost choked. How could this be that old? How could that guy be that old!?

"I know, it's surprising." William said and gave a small chuckle.

I picked up the book from the coffee table and studied the mans face from the drawing. It was definitely the guy that turned me.

"Hey um, guys? Can we wrap this up and come back to it later? Schools about to start." Meagan said.

"Oh right. Thanks Meagan." William said as he looked at the clock by the TV.

My excuse for Lucian killing Olivia has gotten me way out of the danger zone. Thank god.

"Grab your things guys and let's go." William said.

Everyone grabbed their backpacks and books and headed out the door. I had left my backpack in my locker at school so I didn't need to take anything.

Meagan, Oliver and William went into Williams mustang again and the rest in the silver Volvo.

I hopped in the mustang again.

William started the car and drove out of the gravel driveway. Christine, Thomas and Finn were right behind us.

"So, why is there a vampire government?" I asked.

"It's just to have order for our kind since well, we're not human." Meagan said like it was no big deal.

"Don't get too worried about all this stuff Aiden. There's a good chance you'll never even meet the government." William said.

I was doubtful with what he said. With my luck, I was going to meet them.
