Annabelle, Will, Gordon, and Emma

Annabelle Lee.  She is the most popular, beautiful cheerleader in the entire 11th grade.   Her long, flowing blonde hair makes it impossible not to notice her.  It’s almost like she had a ray of the sun atop her head.  She walked like royalty; long, smooth steps that made her hips move side to side and she always carried her books at her side so not to cover up her stunning body.  She had a magnificent body, as most cheerleaders do, but Annabelle’s was more defined and had much more beautiful curves.  She usually dressed in her cheerleading uniform, a red and black top with a dress-code defying skirt.  She has the face of a movie star, perfect in every way, not even a pimple or scratch anywhere and her teeth are white as the clouds.  She’s smart, too.  Oh, what a combination: brains and beauty. 

All of these traits combined made her the girl to get.  The one every boy in school dreamed about, the one that would be the hardest to go out with them.  But even so, they still tried, and they always failed, except for one boy.  One boy who never gave up on her and never stopped trying.  And this poor and unfortunate soul went by the name of William Wilson.

Will is your ordinary average guy.  He doesn’t do sports, he’s not smart, but most of all he is just a downright nobody.  He gets pretty bad grades (Straight-C’s).  He doesn’t have good speech either.  In fact, English is his worst subject. 

Sometimes it is good to fly under the radar but when you’re not even on the radar to begin with you really know you have an issue. 

But Will wasn’t alone.  He had two great best friends: Gordon Pym and Emma Knight.  Now they are losers too, the only difference is that everybody hates them and nobody knows Will. 

Gordon has been best friends with Will ever since they met on the first day of Kindergarten.  It was pretty simple. 

Gordon came up to Will and said, “Hey, you wanna be my friend?”

Then Will responded, “Yeah, sure.” 

It was as easy as that.

Gordon’s a scrawny guy with practically no muscle, like a skeleton.  He has blonde hair that almost looked white.  Because of this he has a wide collection of nicknames: Blondie, Whitey, Sunshine, Snowcap, etc. 

Emma Knight is just as much of a nobody as Gordon and Will.  She is a straight-A student and is in a number of afterschool clubs:  Knitting, Sewing, Book Club, Glee Club, AV Club, Newspaper, Mathletes (She won regional’s two years in a row) and Chess Team.  That’s pretty much all you need to know about her to tell why people don’t necessarily like her.

But here’s the main point:  Will is a loser.  Will likes Annabelle Lee, who is definitely not a loser.  Oh yeah, and one more thing.  Gordon likes Annabelle too.  I sense some tension coming on.
