Troubled Soul

Strong

Everyone expects you to get through the struggles and be strong
Failing to realize your not a robot you can only be strong for so long
They always say "It's ok" "You'll be ok" and "You'll be alright"
Little do they know how many tears hit your pillow every night
Only if they knew how many times you've cried yourself to sleep
All the times you didn't want anyone to hear so you'd just silently weep
How do they expect you to be strong forever
Telling you to have hope when still nothing gets better
They expect you to be strong through it all
If your legs get chopped off they expect you to be strong enough to crawl
My question is could they do it
If there life came crashing down could they actually get through it
Could they swallow the simple words and nothing more than "Be strong"
Would they be able to be fixed by those words and just move along
I don't think so, so don't expect to ease ones pain by simply uttering "Be strong"
