The next day was finally Saturday. Mom was home from work and we were going out to dinner that night at Lissy's favorite restaurant, Lillian's. It was a funky little multicultural restaurant. They served everything from Italian to French to Japanese. I loved when mom was home but I also dreaded it. She was always so stressed from working all those hours and she tended to get a little, well, bitchy. She liked to complain about every little thing to. It was so annoying. I liked it though because for once I didn't have to do all the work.

"Momma!" Lissy yelled after her friends mother had brought her home.

"Hi darling! How was your week?" she asked. My mom always was nice to Lissy. She was the perfect child.

"Good. I got a A on the spelling test yesterday!" Lissy exclaimed happily. She always acted like she was six around our mom and that got old. Fast. I glared at Lissy over mom's shoulder and she flashed me a grin.

"Well lets go eat! Everybody in the car!" my mother said with a laugh as she ushered me and my little attention hogging sister out the door.

Later on that night I was sitting at my desk in front of my laptop writing a paper for my History teacher about the Russian Revolution in 1917, when my phone buzzed. I had a text message from Xavier. He wanted to hang out tomorrow. I texted back I quick affirmative answer and went downstairs in search of a snack. I then went up stairs and watched reruns of desperate house wives until I fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up to find another text from Xavier. He said he would come to pick me up at three. I had two hours to get ready. I went into the bathroom down the hall to take a shower. After I finished I stood in front of the mirror, turning this way and that. I decided I looked fine and started to put on my make up. I was brushing blush across my cheeks with a big, poofy, brush when I heard my phone start to ring. i raced into my room, picking my I-phone up from where it lie on my bed.

"Hello?" I answered a bit breathlessly. I glanced at my alarm clock, it was two thirty-nine.

"Hey beautiful. I just want to make sure you are going to be ready." he said. I smiled at the sound of his rich, velvety voice. I could hear a smile in his voice.

"Yep. If you want you can come over for a while. Mom took Lissy to the mall so I'm home alone for a while." I replied, hoping he would say yes.

"I would love to babe, but I have to um, take care of some things before we go out." he said a bit awkwardly.

"Oh. Ok. Well I guess I will finish getting ready then. Talk to you in a bit." I tried not to let my dissapointment show in my voice.

"Bye babe. See you soon." he said.

"Bye." I heard the click, signalling that he had hung up. I sighed and went to pick out accessories.

About half an hour later I heard a slight knock on the door. I opened it and there on my porch, leaning against the porch railing, was the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. Xavier stood there, in blue jeans and a white tee shirt with a dark brown leather jacket. his hair was jelled into a spiky disarray. He had a earring in one ear that I hadn't noticed before.

His beautifull face broke out in a grin when he saw me.

"You look amazing!" he said, coming over to me and enveloping me in his arms.

"Thanks. So do-" I started but he cut me off pressing his lips to mine. My mind went blank. All I could think of was him.

As we walked to his car, I was glad I had opted to wear shorts instead of my usual jeans. I had decided to wear a pair of white shorts with a icy blue, off the shoulder, top that hung just right on me. I had paired it with my moms drop down crystal earrings and my blue cow girl boots that went up to mid calf. I had straightened my hair and my bangs were swept to the side.

"So where are we going?" I asked as he opened my door for me and I climbed into the cool air conditioning.

"It's a surprise." He said before carefully shutting my door and walking around to the drivers side.

"Oh come on!" I said. I secretly loved surprises, although I wasn't going to tell Xavier that. "You know you want to tell me!" I said and giggled.

As we drove along the road, Xavier turned on the radio. Paramore's song Decode played through the speakers. I sang along softly and when I glanced at Xavier he was staring at me with a amused smile on his lips.

"What?" I asked, feeling slightly self-conscious.

"You have a beautiful voice." He said, turning his eyes back to the road.

"Thank you." I mumbled and my cheeks burned. I turned and stared out the window.

"Where here." Xavier said a little while later. I glanced out the windshield to see trees. Lots and lots of trees.
