I glared at the wall of trees in front of the car. I heard Xavier chuckle under his breath as he opened his door and climbed out. He walked around the front of the car and I sighed, knowing that I had to get out of the car sooner or later. I hoped it was later.

"Come on! Its not that scary and I will hold your hand." He said grinning down at me as he opened my door and reached inside to help me out. Even with his help I still managed to stumble while climbing from the car. After I righted myself, Xavier half led me, half dragged me into the woods. My weak protests did nothing for he just kept going, stopping only to catch me as I fell over a exposed tree branch.

By the time we reached a beautiful little clearing, I was covered in scrapes and scratches and I was well aware that my hiar was a mass of tangles and leaves.

But all was forgotten as soon as we entered the small clearing. There, in the center was a blanket layed out with a basket full of food. It was like a scene straight from a fairy tale. I gasped and Xavier grinned down at me.

"Do you like it?" he asked.

"Of coarse! It's absolutely beautiful! It is just like a scene from a fairy tale!" I said in a dreamy voice,

Xavier chuckled as my stomach growled, ruining the moment. "Well come along my lady, your food awaits you."I laughed and let him lead me to the blanket. The food was delicious and I was tired and full by the time we had finished it all. I layed back and stretched out while Xavier put the dishes and things back in the basket. By now the first few stars were peeking out as the sun started to go down.

I felt Xavier lie down beside me moments later. "Its beautiful." I whispered.

"Yes it is." he agreed. I turned my head to look at him, and found my eyes staring into his icy blue ones. I turned back to the sky, my cheeks blushing fiercely.

We layed there for who knows how long just talking and staring at the stars. When the subject rolled around to my family, my mother in particular, I realized just how late it was. Xavier stood, reaching down for my hand and pulling me to my feet.  I gulped at the thought of trying to stumble my way back to the car in the dark. Xavier must have thought of that to because he laughed and swept me up into his arms before I even realized what he was doing.

I gasped as he held me to his chest. He began walking, carefully carrying me and making his way down the slopes and around invsible rocks and branches. As we went along, much faster then I thought possible, even for someone who wasn't as clumsy as me, the rocking motion so lulled me into a sleepy trance like state.

Just as my eyes drifted closed, I felt a jolt and I started to slide from Xavier's arms. I gasped and my eyes opened wide. Xavier was right there, still holding me, but with only one arm. With his other hand he opened the passenger side door of the car and slid me inside. The leather seats were cool against my skin and I shivered dispite the warm night air. Xavier noticed this and slipped out of his jacket. He tucked it around my shoulders and I sighed, inhaling his delicious sent. He smelled slightly like calone but there were also traces of what smelled like cinnamon, and hay. It was a odd combination but it smelled amazing just the same.

The next I knew we were pulling into my drive way and Xavier was tugging me from the car. He shut my door after pulling me out and leaning me against the side of his car. He put his arms on either side of me, resting his hands against the hood so I couldn't move away. It didn't seem threatening though, it was nice. He leaned his face in close to mine and whispered, "This should have been our first kiss." before pressing his lips gently to mine. My eyes fluttered closed as he moved his lips against mine. Our mouths seemed to move as one. It ended all to soon though as he drew his head back.

"You should probably get in. I'm sure your mother and sister are wondering where you are." I sighed, longing to stay although I knew he was right. I sighed again and kissed him one last time. He dropped his arms and let me go. I walked alone, up the porch steps, turning to wave goodbye before opening my front door and walking inside.

I could smell brownies and heard the t.v in the living room playing.

"Where have you been?" my mother asked. I could tell she wasn't happy.
