Chapter O1.
" Riiiiiiing " the bell rang signally the end of the school day and the begging of summer vacation .
" Finally , time to go to the beach and have some fun " my bestfriend Bridget Vazquez said .
Hi my names Jessika Rivera , I'm 12 years old , yes 12 . I just finished elementary and reading for the summer .
" Where to first ? " Bridget asked
" Well I'm guessing home cause if you forgot we have soccer practice ." I said
" Right soccer....theeeen we go have fun ???" she asked
"Yes then we go have fun. " I said
Bridget and I met when we were four and our parents had signed us up for soccer . We both looked like idiots trying to play soccer in a city league . When we turned 10 we fell in love with soccer and took it more serious so our parents decided to sign us up for club . So up to this day were still , for Corinthians ( this is actually a soccer club for kids lol )
Bridget and I walked home . She had brought her equipment so we ate dinner and my dad being our coach drove us for practice .
My dad has two team mine and my brothers Josh . My brothers 9 so his practice is before ours so Bridget and I usually just sit there or go play one the playground for an hour and a half .
" Ooo who's that cute guy ?" Bridget asked
" Are you really checking out 9 year old boys ? " I asked not looking up from my phone
" No , not them him " Bridget said pointing to a boy
" Oh him that's Steven Limón , " I said " his cousin plays on my brothers team " I said with no emotion
" He's hot " Bridget said
" He's a year older than us " I said still looking at my phone
" Y que ? (so what) " Bridget said " How long has his cousin been playing with Josh ? " she asked
" Umm 3...4 years " I said
" Have you ever talked to him"
"Nope"
" You know his name cause......" she asked
" Isaac his cousin told me one day for no reason ." I said
" You've known this boy for 4 years and haven't said a word to him "
"Yep" I said popping the 'P'
"Niña step up your game" she said

A couple of girls stared to show up for practice so when there were 7 of us we started stretching and took 3 laps .
" Hey Jessika , you should ask your dad if we can scrimmage that boy team over there " Emy Escobar my other bestfriend said pointing to Steven teams
They were around our age and hey playing soccer against a bunch of hot guys could be fun I thought
"Kay I'll see what he says" I said
It was 7:00 pm so the whole team had showed up by now , my dad agreed on letting us play against the boys.
"Ready" my dad asked their goalie then ours , the he blew the whistle signally for the game to start .
Emy passed me the ball and I did a couple of fakes here and there and I saw Bridget open by the fat post so I crossed it to her and she headed the ball into the goal .
By now we were winning 3-1 . It might be a scrimmage but we were taught to take every single game we play seriously , so we played our hardest .
The scrimmage was over and and it was time to high five / shake the other teams hands .
I knew alot of the boys , most from school. When I had to shake Stevens hand I kept thinking about what Bridget told me earlier. When we shook hands he gave me a wink and a smile before I could leave.
"OHH MMYY TAMALES !" Bridget said , " I saw that she said "
" what ?"
" The whole wink smile thing and YOU blushing like a tomato " she said
" Hey like you said I gota step up my game I" I said while grabbing my bag and walking towards the car .
