A MONTH LATER.
"Princess Amelia" Lady Josephine calls as she enters my bedroom.
"Tell him I'll be down in a minute" I answer as I review my outfit choices.
Is not like I have many options, I only have 2 outfits, so I just have to take one very unclear choice.
"Your highness" Lady Josephine calls, I look at her.
"Their majesties, his highness, and a guest are here to see you" Lady Josephine says.
I sigh, not even because it is my birthday they can give me a moment of happiness.
"Your majesties, your highness, I would truly love to receive all of you, spend time with you, catch up, but I have plans, so please, leave, and do not let the door hit you on your royal way out" I say from the top of the stairs.
"I wonder what happened to the respectful young lady I met months ago" King Caleb says.
"She ended married to your lying and cheating son, when she intended to break the marriage off, she was sent to her grandfather's version of a prison to try and get her to change her mind, does that answer his majesty's question?" I say.
"And still she hasn't gone back to her old self" King Caleb asks.
"His majesty is assuming this place was some sort of punishment for her" I answer.
"Which means you have not changed your mind on the matter" King Caleb says.
"I am afraid not, your majesty" I say.
"Do not be mistaken, Princess Amelia, I intend to keep you inside this palace until you either change your mind or go crazy" King Caleb says.
"And what happens when you come back in a month and I am still holding on to the idea of sending Obnoxious to hell, your majesty?" I ask.
"I bed your pardon?" King Caleb answers.
"Let's say I agree, let's say I do not declare the divorce, and I decide to stay married to your son, what his majesty thinks is going to happen? Everything will get better? Prince Maximilian will start to behave? He will leave his lover? His majesty better than anyone knows his own son, from my standing point, I do not deserve to go through this suffering and humiliation, I guess what I am trying to say is do I have a reason to change my mind?" I answer.
"His majesty thinks that more time in here will do me good, will force me to change my mind, I say his majesty is simply wasting time, so I have a proposition for his majesty" I say as I walk down stairs.
"Father..." "I am listening" King Caleb says as I stand before him.
"I completely understand why his majesty wouldn't want anyone what happened inside these walls every single time late King Charles would ask his majesty to spend a few nights inside this place, but we both know his majesty simply locked me up in here, his majesty has not ordered for the royal treatment provided in this palace" I say.
"Your point being?" King Caleb asks.
"One month of what his majesty had to endure for a week, if by then end of the month, I have not changed my mind, I get my freedom, but if I do, I will agree to stay married to Prince Maximilian until the end of time" I answer.
"Deal" King Caleb says as he offers me his hand, I shake it.
"Lady Josephine, the Mace protocol is to be obey to the point from tomorrow up to a month" King Caleb says.
"Yes, your majesty" Lady Josephine answers as she bows, I smile.
"As for today, Princess Amelia, enjoy your birthday" King Caleb says.
