Kian's POV
Marisa and I were led up to JC's room, after waiting for what seemed like forever. When we finally got to his door, we stood side by side in the shadow of a nurse. The nurse grabbed a clipboard that was beside the door and pulled down the door knob and jestured us in. I looked over at Marisa and she looked up at me with an attempted smile. I placed my hand on her back, and we slowly paced in. A curtain blocked off the room and I looked back to see if it was okay to open it.
"Don't be shy, go in, I'll be right here I just need to fill this out," the nurse spoke in a slight southern accent before going back to scribbling things down.
Marisa pushed open the curtain and immediately walked straight. The sight of JC was exposed. He was all cleaned up and peacefully sleeping. His face stood blank. Marisa walked up to him, and just brought in what she saw. Looking back and forth from head to toe, she covered her mouth and shook her head.
"What the hell happened?" she asked as I came up to her and gazed at JC's still body.
"This can't happen from 'falling'. Something happened, and its my fault," a tear escaped her right eye and she quickly wiped it away.
"How could this be your fault?" There wasn't anyone to blame, especially since we don't know what really happened.
"JC was putting off his video for this week, and I made him stick with his promise. If I would've just let him be and wasn't such a controlling girlfriend, this wouldn't have happened. JC wouldn't let his fans down, he was gonna do his video! I was just being bossy and-"
"And what?" I interrupted.
"And you were just trying to help him stick to his agenda? You were telling him what was best at the moment? You were making sure he was on top of his job, and made his video, right? You weren't the one who physically hurt him, this is not your fault. Don't think it is," I ranted.
She stood quiet and another tear fell. I engulfed her small body into a tight hug and took a deep breath.
"He's gonna be alright, don't worry. We can do this, but we gotta stick together alright?" I held in my tears, causing my voice to crack throughout my sentence.
I felt her head nod, as it was placed against my chest. I let go, and held out my fist.
"Good, we got this," I smiled, she fist bumped me, and laughed a little.
There were two chairs and a couch by the window. I sat down on the couch and patted beside me, telling Marisa to sit. As she did so, the nurse walked into the curtain.
"Okay, so Justin should be up in about 30 to 45 minutes or so. When he does get up I'll be back most likely with Dr. Jefferson just to check on him, ask some questions. That is also a time where you guys can ask us any questions you'd like, you know find out what you want okay," the nurse smiled.
"Here's the TV controller, you can change the channel. The news isnt really interesting, right?" she laughed.
I laughed too, only to make things less awkward, as she handed me the remote. I changed the channel from the news to ABC Family to check if any movies were playing.
"Okay, well this door is the bathroom you guys have access to. I think that's all, so I'll see y'all later," she pointed to a door across from Jc's bed, grabbed her clipboard and left the room.
"We have to wait 30 to 45 minutes," Marisa threw her head back and groaned in frustration.
"Time will fly, we just need something to occupy us till then," I looked back up at the TV and watched the commercials playing.
Marisa got up and walked over to JC.
"Do you think he's in pain?" She looked at him then to me.
"Um...yeah! What kind of question is that," I said.
"I don't know, he just looks so comfy and peaceful," she pouted, moving her finger up and down his arm.
Before I could say anything else, she squeezed herself onto the bed. Luckily she was much smaller than him, so she fit just perfect next too him. She lifted his arm and drooped it over her shoulder, and rested her arm on his torso. Resting her head on his shoulder, she could've easily hurt him with the amount of injuries he had, but she precisely worked around it all and made herself comfortable.
"Don't hurt him," I joked.
"I won't," she smiled, looked up at his face and pecked his cheek.
I focused back on the TV and layed out across the couch. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was showing, so I turned it up a little, and adjusted myself to be comfortable. It felt so nice to stretch out my legs, and to lay down to just rest.
