~The Next Day
Kian's POV
My dream was cut off by my mind swerving into a awaken state. I sat up, rubbing my eyes before scanning my surroundings. After stretching, I plopped my arms to my sides and let out a sigh. I was hot, and my forehead was covered in beads of sweat, due to the morning sun blazing through the windows onto my face.
"Rise and shine," JC whispered.
Marisa was still asleep, perfectly nuzzled into his left side.
"What time is it?" I asked walking over to my phone, placed on the night stand next to the hard, uncomfortable hospital sofa.
JC shrugged his shoulders.
"9:56am" I answered my own question. "How long have you been up?"
"Around 10 minutes " JC guessed.
It wasn't often that I woke up after JC. If JC woke up before me, its because he had to be somewhere, or do something. Without an alarm, or a productive day, I'm always up first. Although there isn't a specific reason my day starts before his, I like to refer it back to me being younger than him, and its gonna take a while for me not to wake up so early due to my brain trained for school mornings. I was always up and about by 7:30am or even 9am, after I graduated. Last night, I stood up longer than usual just hanging with the guys, so its no surprise my schedule was slightly messed up, this one time, but it is a shock seeing JC's being the total opposite.
I know there's something up with JC, but I don't know if I should ask. It seems like a small 'problem', through all the years I've known JC, I know by now that at times like this JC would never be this odd, as to simply waking up too early, and hiding secrets not only from Marisa, but me.
I let the curiosity slide away for now, and just nod my head at him.
Unlocking my phone, I go straight to text Siera good morning. As I waited for her reply, there was a knock on the door. Soon after, the door slowly creaked opened revealing Dr. Jefferson, and the familiar blonde nurse following his foot steps. I looked over to JC and notice Marisa beggining to wake up.
"Good morning, sorry if I woke you guys up," Dr. Jefferson apologized.
"But I've got some good news to make up for it," he smiled at us.
"What is it?" Marisa speaks up in a rather excited tone, but still a bit raspy, as she rubs her eyes and started to sit up.
"We're going to take some XRays today, and if everything is as I predict it should, we can release JC tomorrow," grinning, Dr. Jefferson looked as if he was waiting for us to jump in glee.
"Yay," Marisa looked over to JC.
"When will we do xrays?" JC questioned.
"As soon as possible," the nurse interrupted.~
Marisa's POV
JC went to get XRays and so Kian and I had to stay behind, in the lust of all the awkward. I refreshed my Instagram only thirty times, given the same result of a picture Connor posted 35 minutes ago. I went through my camera roll, and admired the evidence of frozen time, an image that held a moment I can instantly recall. I came across a picture that was taken the day I met everyone, at Trevor's party. I stared at it, finding something I didn't notice before, the longer I stared. I remember JC asking Trevor's mother to snap the shot, and being the kind woman she is, accepting. Behind the camera, she wore a big smile, it was welcoming. I looked a little harder. I remember smiling with my arm around JC's waist, and suddenly feeling his arm around my shoulder, and his head resting against the top of mine. I was on the left of JC, and on his right stood Kian, cheesin hard, hand in pocket, and JC's other hand on his shoulder. The other side of Kian was Trevor, striking a model pose, with his hand on his hip. I remember before the picture he tried a 'twerking pose', causing his mother to roll her eyes and laugh, and I could hear him cracking up again, then quickly getting into pose. Connor leaned against Trevor. And then there's Ricky, laying out in front of us on the floor, one knee arched, and his lips puckered, his head tilted back. Sam was in the bathroom, we waited for him but he took too long. I notice a Mountain Dew can in my free hand, it was my third can that night. I can even hear the music that was playing, Echo by , of course, Trevor, it was blasting but I still managed to hear the laughs. I swiped the picture, and surprised to see an off guard picture. Ive oddly never seen this before. Trevor's laugh perfectly captured, you can practically hear it just looking at him. JC looking at me in a way no boy has ever watched me, his arm blurry, it was in action of wrapping around me. Kian laughing at Trevor, Connor admiring what was going on. Ricky squatting down to the floor. I couldn't help but smile.
"Whatcha watchin?" Kian's voice interrupted the memory playing in my mind.
"Nothing, just came across the first picture we've took together," I explain, and turn my phone to the still picture, allowing Kian to see.
"I remember that," Kian let out a slight laugh.
"Me too," I swiped to the off guard picture and show it to him.
"That's a good one," he smiles.
"I'll send it to you," I turn my phone back to me, and scroll through my contacts.
