Kian's POV

"Do you know how delusional you sound!?" Siera yelled at me, loud enough to be mad, but quiet enough so no one else in the house could hear.
"Delusional! I'm here trying to figure out something that's clearly not small! What, I'm supposed to just step over the elephant in the room??!!" I spat back.
"What stupid elephant? That he tripped, oh yeah, big deal!" She sarcastically remarked.
"Are you that blind, he DIDNT TRIP, if its not obvious by now. The man is put into months of recovery!" I stood up from our bed.
"You're so pathetic, can't even believe your best friend. Instead, you're hear trying to be Sherlock Holmes and shit, for what!? I'm sick of it. For a month you and Marisa have been coming up with 'plans' to find out this big mystery. You've been putting this first! Tell me the last we spent time together, a time when it was really just us!!" She ranted.
In a way, she was right. No moment came to mind that we had shared. But I didn't let her know that.
"You just don't get it.." I told her, putting emphasis so maybe she'll notice there really is more.
"He's been my best friend for years. I don't know if you have ever really had a best friend like this, but Siera, when they're hurt, they're not the same," I scoffed.
"No shit," she rolled her eyes.
"Listen to me! He's not well physically, you can sure as hell at least see that, but mentally he's screwed and I'm just trying to help him!" I continued my point.
"Kian, I have a best friend, and its you," she said, in a not so meaningful tone, "but if you can't find time for me while you hunt for your mystery, I don't think you should hold that place much longer," I wasn't watching her, but I heard the hurt in her voice, with a following sniffle.
"Come on, don't say that," I tried to keep myself together.
She didn't respond. I looked over to her and she held her head between her hands.
"Siera.." I scooted closer.
"Don't," she whispered through her teeth.
"I'm sorry, look I just.." I began.
"Just get out," her voice cracked. It was my room, but it was also my girl who needed her space. I gathered myself and left without another word.

JC's POV

Marisa and I were watching TV when someone knocked on our door.
"Yes," I called out.
The door slowly opened, revealing Kian in such a frustrated face.
"Wanna get a drink with me?" He asked me.
"Sure," I said, and he silently closed the door and walked down stairs. Marisa shot me a glare.
"You can't go," she sat up.
"And why not," I tried to stand up from the bed and almost fell over.
"Geez I don't know...maybe because you're not stable!" She got up and ran around the bed to help me up.
"I'll be fine," I eased.
"No, JC, you won't," she nodded her head.
"Look, you're not my mom. And I know I'll be fine, why are you making such a big deal?" We were standing hand in hand, but she was obviously mad at me.
"If something happens.." She trailed.
"Key word there baby: if. Nothing will happen. You saw Kian, something happened, and he really needs this, come on," I convinced.
"Okay. But could you please call me when you get there, then after an hour, and when you're on your way home," she instructed.
"I promise," I smiled to her, and kissed her forehead as she led me to my shoes.
*downstairs
"Finally," Kian huffed.
"Okay, you have your wheel chair and crutches in the car, please use one. And be safe!"
I kissed her one last time, before Kian wrapped my arm over his shoulder and took me to the car.

Stay tuned for the next chapter!!! Trust me.
