The experiences you've had this past week have been unforgettable. You were happy to be out of the hospital but this experience changed your view of many things. There are many heartless people on the earth that only care about their own well-being. Moreover, you are grateful for the people whom will go out of there way to help someone in need. Your attacker is still on the run and hasn't been identified yet, unfortunately. Similarly, you do not know why the man shot you in the first place but you chose to excuse further thoughts about it. It only plants more fear in your mind.
It was getting around the hour in which you were attacked but also the around the time you came across your rescuer, Vincent.
"Vincent...", you muttered.
You wanted to see him at least once more to thank him for saving you. You decided that you would stop by and see if he was there for his night shift. Instead of walking, you were going to drive of course. With this plan in mind, you soon began to get ready, making sure to look presentable. You throw on some decent clothing and brushed your hair out. Heading into your bathroom, you look at yourself in the mirror. You look great and ready to go.
After grabbing your keys, you hesitate to open the door in fear of not knowing what is on the other side. You take a deep breathe and twist the knob and crack the door open letting the chill of the night in. The stars and moon are not visible due to clouds which makes it seem more dark out and mysterious. Soon realizing how paranoid you are acting you quickly man up and walk to your car. You quickly started it up and began driving. As you head down the road getting closer to town, it begins to rain. You sighed a bit.
After a few more minutes, you arrive in the parking lot of the pizzeria where Vincent works. There was light inside which gave you a feeling of hope. Stepping out of your car, you try to hurry for the door trying not to get rained on too much. You stood there and before you knocked you saw the familiar security guard coming around the corner. He must have heard you pull in. He had a look of shock. You grinned and waved through the glass as he came over and unlocked the door for you.
"Hey... It's you!", he said confused but smiling nevertheless.
"Vincent, do you mind if I come in for a second... I know your busy but I really wanted to speak to you", you said shyly.
"Absolutely."
Vincent held the door open for you to get in and he lead you to one of the tables. He pulled a chair out for you and you both sat.
"Vincent.. I wanted to thank you. If it wasn't for you, who knows what would have happened to me. I've wanted to properly meet you ever since the doctor told me you were the one who called for help", you say to him smiling.
"No need. I am just glad you are ok now, y/n", he said taking off his security guard hat.
You smiled at his sympathy but you then you began to wonder.
"How do you know my name, Vincent?"
"Hm? Oh, your story was on the news yesterday and I was part of the interview. Did you know they have caught a suspect?"
"No.. Who is he?", you ask vigorously.
"They won't release his name for the public yet. The evidence isn't solid."
Before he continued his thought, he noticed you shivering a bit. He slid off his jacket and handed it too you.
"My apologies, I don't put the heater on in here at night. I have to save on electric", Vincent said.
"Thanks."
You slide on the jacket that was still warm from his body heat. It was comforting. Under his coat he had a purple button up with a golden badge that says "Night Watch."
"Y/n, you are such a nice, and not to mention beautiful, woman. Why would someone want to hurt you out of the blue?"
You blushed at his complement but before you could think of a response to his question you looked up to see him smiling. He was so handsome. The most prominent feature was his eyes.
"Y/n...?"
"Oh! I'm so sorry!", you said snapping out of it.
Vincent smirked and chuckled a bit. He got up and walked across the black and white checkered floor and got a piece of paper.
"I'll tell you what", he said sitting back down again, "why don't we celebrate your recovery? I'll explain more about what happened. I'm free this weekend. Now, miss Y/n, I apologize but I must get back to work."
He continued writing for a bit then handed you the leaflet. You took the piece of paper into your hands and smiled, "sounds like a plan!"
You slipped off his jacket and handed it back to him. You were excited! You were a bit sad you couldn't talk to him longer but when you meet him again, you'll be able to talk longer. As you got up, Vincent slipped his security hat back on and tipped it to you.
"See you soon", Vincent said spinning his flashlight as he disappeared into a dark hallway. You said goodbye but you weren't sure if he heard you or not.
You head outside and get into your car, ready to go home but before you leave you unfold the note he gave you. It had his address and number but it also had a message at the bottom. You could tell it was written quickly.

"Y/n, it was an honor to meet you again but more formally this time. I've only known you for a few days but you already seem pretty great. Let's meet up and get to know each other better."
