***Niall's P.O.V.***

One week. One week since Navaeh had told me the fantastic news and I was absolutely over the moon. How could I not be? I had always wanted children, and I knew for a fact that Navaeh was the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Sure, it was a big surprise and I could tell that I would be overwhelmed with the situation at times, but I was trying to keep in mind that Navaeh was just as surprised as I was about it all. After all, she wasn't even twenty yet and now... now a little Horan would be making an appearance. However, there was little thing that I wanted to take care of before the baby actually came; I just wanted to make everything official. So, I had decided—with great enthusiasm—that I was going to ask her to marry me.

I was practically pissing myself from the nerves on the day that I had decided to do it, and I couldn't figure out why. She was going to say yes... I mean, we were practically married already! Fuck, she was carrying our child. I just couldn't shake the little feeling in the back of my mind that I could completely screw it up. What if it isn't special enough? What if it's too corny?

"Niall!" her familiar voice called out from the walkway in the park. It was so obvious that she had just gotten done with a class because she was setting down her book bag in the grass. I shoved the small box into my shorts pocket and jogged up to meet her. Eagerly, and to relieve my nerves slightly, I snaked my arms around her waist and pulled her towards me for a kiss. She let a smile slip onto her lips as I continued to kiss her again and again. I swear, I could just kiss her all day and be completely content. "So, why have you brought me out here to this lovely park?" she wondered when I had stopped kissing her.

"Well, it's such a lovely day; I thought that we might be able to kick the football around a little bit. Get the little one into it early," my hand rested against her currently flat stomach. It was crazy to think that a little person was starting to grow inside of her, and soon I would be able to see the evidence of that. I couldn't wait for what was to come.

"They haven't even developed feet yet, Niall," she giggled in response, but I shrugged my shoulders. Taking her hand in mine, I pulled her out to where the football was waiting and we wasted no time in starting to kick it back and forth. "When'll we tell your mum and dad about the baby? You know Maura will be excited," she smiled to herself and I couldn't help but to chuckle.

"Yeah, that's for sure," I agreed, "I am confident that she'll go on and on about wanting a granddaughter."

"And what do you want?" she wondered as she kicked the ball back to me. There was the ghost of a smile on her lips still, and she watched me carefully as I thought about the question.

"I don't know," I answered truthfully before going on, "but as long as they're healthy, it doesn't matter." The words brought her smile back and it was so bright that all of my worries seemed to calm themselves. That's when my heart kicked into over drive and I knew I had to do it right there and then. So, I put a little more force in my kick—angling it away from her so that I wouldn't run the risk of hurting her—and watched as it rolled past her. She put her hands on her hips and gave me a playfully sour look before turning to go get the ball. While she was turned around, I dug into my shorts and pulled out the ring box. Quickly, so that I would be in position by the time she turned around; I dropped down on one knee.

"If you make me get the ball every time-," her words were cut off when she finally turned to see me kneeling in the grass. I hadn't opened the ring box yet, but it was in clear view and she had brought her hand to her gaping mouth while slowly approaching me.

"Navaeh, we've had a crazy time while knowing each other and when this kid gets here it's going to get even crazier. I love you, and our child, and I never want to be apart from you for the rest of my life. Would you do me the honors of marrying me?" the smile on my lips never left when I was speaking, and I watched while tears filled her eyes. She nodded so quickly that I thought it was impossible. With great enthusiasm, I rose to my feet and wrapped her in my arms as she sobbed with joy. "Hey now," I cooed to her and she let out a laugh.

"I'm sorry, my hormones are making this a bitch," I pulled away from her and wiped away her tears before removing the ring from its box and slipping it onto her finger. "God I love you."

I leaned on the doorframe to the living room, not yet being spotted by Navaeh since she was too busy looking down at her stomach. Her hand was resting there in an almost protective way even though the bump wasn't even showing yet. There was a small smile on my lips as I watched her, rubbing her stomach as she looked down at it with slight wonder. We had spent the past week cuddled up in bed, talking about what exactly the future held for us. We hashed out a date to get married and decided that it wouldn't be a fancy thing; what was important was that it would be small and special for us.

"You sure are causing me a lot of grief, kid," she laughed a little as she continued to lightly trace her stomach; "first with the morning sickness and now I can't even stand it when your daddy is cooking bacon?" My smile widened; hearing the word 'daddy' just sounded so right. I had always wanted to be a father, and I honestly couldn't wait to have the baby there with us. "I suppose it'll be worth it when you get here," she joked with her own smile, "Just don't do it too quickly, okay? And don't wait forever either. You come when you're healthy enough, yeah?" She let out a small sigh and tapped her flat stomach lightly, "and as soon as you can start kicking I hope you don't do it all of the time; your daddy will love it but that baby site said that it can get annoying." I couldn't help but to laugh at that and Navaeh's head snapped to look at me as she glared slightly. "How long have you been there?"

"Since you started talking," I told her to which she groaned. With a small shake of my head, I walked over to her, sat down on the floor beside the couch, and kissed her cheek before speaking again. "Have I ever told you about how happy I am that you're going to be the mother of my child?" she nodded, a small smile being brought back to her lips. "Well, it's true."

We both just stared at each other before she leaned towards me for a quick kiss and then pulled away again. As if it was a side note, she straightened up and said, "I made an appointment with a really great OBGYN for next week."

I perked up a little at that; a trip to the doctor would mean a chance to see the baby, and just the thought of that made my smile widen. However, the smile dipped when I remembered that I had meetings during a large portion of next week, and there was no way I would be getting out of them. Her own smile had dipped a little, and I sighed heavily. "I'm going to be at a meeting, aren't I?"

She nodded, offering me a sympathetic smile afterwards. "It was the earliest time I could book an appointment," after hearing another of my heavy sighs, she went on, "but it's okay; I'll make sure that I schedule the thirteen weeks checkup for a time that you won't miss. Then you'll really be able to see the baby." With a small amount of resignation to it, I smiled back at her before nodding and leaning over to press another kiss to her lips. Missing one appointment would be a small disappointment, but I would deal with it. At the end of the day, I still had a wonderful fiancée and a baby on the way.
