Lucie reopened her eyes and saw nothing but darkness once more. When she made a move to rub her eyes, she found that her arms were bound. A deeper investigation revealed that her legs were bound as well. She heard sinister chuckles and she turned white. The hand curled around her chin.

"Finally, you are ready, Lucie. All the procedures are complete and everyone is anxious to begin."

For the first time in a long while, Lucie built up some courage. "Please don't kill me! Please take me back to my family," she begged. A slap sent her head off in another direction. She coughed up some blood.

The hand went away. There was the sound of footsteps walking away from her side. "Now we will begin." There were four loud claps.

The fear was now unbearable for Lucie. So was the pain. With strength she thought she had lost, she tugged against the chains that bound her to the wall. They would not bend, they would not break. She kicked and she screamed. She shook her head furiously. Tears pooled down her cheeks. She was closer to a primitive beast during those moments.

A white light blinded Lucie. She did not know where it came from, nor did she care. Suddenly, she was calm. She was quiet. She relaxed. It was like she was in the Garden of Eden. The fears from before were gone. The worries of yesterday were past.

No sooner than that, an inhumane roar emerged from her mouth. It was supreme, unparalleled, and absolute. It would have made a cat growl in retaliation.

Its force produced tremendous sound waves that broke the bars that held Lucie down. She would have slid down the wall, but something was suspending her in the air. The vibrations the roar had caused ripped her clothes into shreds. The vibrations seeped into her skin. Her roar thundered savagely on.

After a while, it developed a heart-breaking tone. It was filled with pain. There was sorrow. There was languishing. It had hints of melancholy, but was overshadowed by guilt. There were the brutal animal abuses of a young girl. There was the ruthless fatal kick of a high school graduate. It had hints of the demonic murder of a young bride.

Do not mistake them for things brought by the situation. They had always been there waiting, growing, changing. Now they were out and on the surface.

Lucie's body developed a dramatic change. Her stunning tanned skin became sickeningly white in color. Her dirty blond hair darkened until it was as black as the night sky. It also grew down to her waist, a clear contrast to where it lay upon her shoulders before.

Noteworthy were two large raven-black appendages that arose from her back. They were filled with many feathers for each appendage. The feathers were long in length and magnificent in appearance. Each appendage shined brightly in the light. They were delicate, but demanded attention.

Lucie did not notice any of this.

Finally, the roar ended. All returned to calm. Lucie set her feet onto the floor and held her head down. There was a reddish aura that surrounded her.

Sinister chuckles again filled the air. A figure materialized into reality. It was the doctor, but her appearance was altered from before. Now her hair was as black as Lucie's and she had dark appendages as well. Her eyes were a dark purple.

She placed her hands on Lucie's shoulders and laughed. "Did I not tell you how much value this girl has? Not only has she survived, but you can clearly see the potential for power she possesses! This is the true power of memories, Arawn!"

Another figure materialized. It was yet another woman with a larger build. She had the same dark hair, the same dark appendages, and the same purple eyes. Her lips curled into a twisted smile while her tongue licked her lips. "You were right, as always. She will be a great help. Plus we can have our fun with her, Hecate."

Hecate snapped her fingers. Lucie raised her head, but she did not open her eyes. "Open your eyes and tell us your name." Her demand was firm.

Lucie opened her eyes. They were blood-shot red.

"My name which had been Lucie is that no longer. For evermore, I shall be Morrigan." The words were spoken softly. Finally she smirked, a contorted and satanic smirk.

She swirled a finger. A thin, crimson dress replaced her shattered clothing.

Hecate and Arawn placed their arms through Morrigan's arms and pulled her with them. Together they walked out of the warehouse.

The entire area was covered with leaves; it really was autumn. It was very silent. Then, a powerful breeze past them, moving around the leaves along the way. There it was, the whistle of the leaves. Morrigan broke away from the two women and took some small steps. She glanced upwards. There they were, a group of birds heading south in their familiar V-shaped forms. Morrigan stood there for many minutes.

She looked back at Hecate and Arawn, and smirked once more. Then, they all flew with their large appendages and disappeared into the midnight sky.

Where they went should never be described with words.
