The next morning Bonnie arrived early with a cup of hot chocolate in her hand. Since she was clear on the whole “you’re not a coffee errand girl” thing, Bonnie felt a bit lost, so she decided to go over the files and the notes she made form last night.
She was so engrossed in her work that she almost didn’t notice that the others had filed in and were seated.
“So Bonnie, with the way you’re into those files, I’m guessing you’re up to date on the case” questioned Liam
“Mmh” Bonnie muttered absentmindly. Then the meeting started and Bonnie frowned and kept note, there was something bothering her…
“Question” she said interrupting Liam particular speech at the moment
“Sorry, it’s just something’s been bothering me” she continued, after seeing Liam raise brow. “If all the involved parties are dead, why is there still an ongoing investigation? Shouldn’t the case be closed by now?”
Liam smiled behind his raised coffee cup.
“It doesn’t make sense. I – just- are there any witnesses- wait no don’t answer that the files say otherwise”
Everyone’s interest was piqued now.
“Mmm, never mind”, Bonnie said sighing,” it just kept bothering me so much so-“
Two sharp raps on the door interrupted Bonnie and reverberated throughout the room.
“Come in” Niall said in the afterward silence.
Shanna Douglas stepped through the door as if she owned it.
“Hi guys!” she chirped excitedly
“Hi Douglas” replied Louis in a sickly, sweet, haughty tone that matched Shanna’s completely.
“Why are you here Douglas” Danielle asked sensing an oncoming showdown between Shanna and Louis. Again.
“Well I just wanted to check on sweet, little Bonnie here” she said, gesturing towards Bonnie who had on a completely neutral face on, “You know to make sure she isn’t giving any trouble.”
“Why that isn’t any of your business Shanna now is it? Bonnie isn’t in your department anymore” Louis snapped”
“Well Louis I just wanted to help after all she gets so nervous after meeting new people, so I just wanted to-“
“Get more help solving cases or putting down people’s talent and making them feel like shit.
Shanna looked offended.”How dare-“
“Get out of our department Shanna, the door’s right there if you need help finding it. Besides we’re in a meeting. Good bye” Eleanor said forcefully.
Shanna huffed but after seeing everyone staring at her coldly she left but not without slamming the door.
“Bitch” Louis said scornfully.
There was a silence before Liam said “Lou” and Bonnie said “thanks”
Then the meeting continued, a bit slow but it gradually got back to speed. After another hour into running through the DNA sample and bomb residue, a knock sounded on the door. The chief opened the door without waiting for confirmation and said
