Flashbacks: The Announcment

"Are you ready?" Matt asked, coming up behind Alison and putting a reassuring hand on her back.

Alison took a deep breath and smiled as she nodded, lacing a microphone through her top and clipping it on.

Matt turned the camera on, positioned it and began to talk.

"How's it going guys? Welcome back to another episode of backseat gaming!

We have here a very special guest" he informed, emphasising the word very.

"It's my lovely girlfriend Alison, say hi Ali!"

"Hi Ali" Alison grinned, waving at the camera.

"What game are we playing today?" Matt asked, watching Alison move the controls on her controller.

"A game from my childhood my dear, Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity!" Alison announced, grinning as she made the character jump up and down.

"I'm down with that" Matt smiled and nodded "Now, I want you to jump on that slug thing"

"Sure thing, backseat gamer" Alison confirmed, doing as he commanded.

"Now go off and chase the chicken"

"Come here chicken, I must chase you, you tasty bird!"

"Speaking of tasty birds, you must kill the chicken"

"Why?"

"Because I am backseat gamer"

"Would bandicoots eat chicken?"

"Everyone eats chicken"

"Even bandicoots?"

"I said everyone didn't I?"

"Fair enough"

"Doesn't Australia have bandicoots?"

"I'm sure we do, I mean we have dingos, why not bandicoots? We have enough crazy animals as it is"

"I issue you a challenge, name as many weird Australian animals as you can while you are rolling down this tunnel"

"Challenge accepted! Kangaroo, echidna, platypus, dingo, bush tailed wallaby, normal wallaby-"

"Normal wallaby?"

"We so have that, anyways, brown snake, didgeridoo, boomerang, eucalyptus trees, Vegemite sandwiches-"

"I think you're going a little off topic here"

"Not with that attitude- aw you made me loose! Switch!"

After roughly an hour of gameplay, and many switches, they ended the video and spent the rest of the night editing. Finishing it, and preparing it for uploading the day after.

"Are you ready?" Matt asked, making the mouse icon hover over the upload button the next morning.

Alison nodded, smiling nervously as Matt uploaded the video.

"And now we wait" Alison announced, Matt placed a reassuring hand on her neck and pecked her on the lips.

"I hope they like me" Alison stated, and Matt scoffed.

"You've been in videos before and they loved you, this is just our first time alone. You will be fine" Matt smiled, and Alison sighed with relief.

"You're right, I don't know what I'm worrying about"

"I'm right?" Matt grinned, David laughing.

"Cherish this moment Matt, because it won't last" David grinned, resuming his work.

"Ali, you should be more worried about girls seeing their crush with another woman" Josh joked, earning a playful scowl from Alison.

"Look, people are already commenting" Matt announced, Alison readjusting her glasses and smiling as she saw a majority of positive comments as Matt scrolled down.

"Excellent!" Alison laughed, Matt pulling her in for a celebratory kiss.

"They're shipping you guys as Alinki, that's your new name guys!" They faintly heard Josh tell them as they broke apart, Mari walking and smiling at the two, getting from their happy vibes the outcome of the video.

"So they like you guys huh?" Mari grinned, engulfed by Alison's happy hug.

"They call us 'Alinki'" Matt informed, Mari smiling at their viewers creativity.

"Well, you've got our viewers approval, you can go on being a couple now" Josh grinned, Alison laughing with Matt.
