Kelsey's POV
Waking up at Lydia's wasn't exactly the highlight of my day since Allison came over the second we woke up and decided to hang out with the girlies. Although she was basically hanging out with Lydia since I was left sitting alone watching them talk and laugh about god knows what.
I felt like such an outsider. How am I supposed to reconnect my friendship with Lydia if Allison is always getting in the way?
Well thank god for Danny saving the day with his text, it gave me an excuse to leave the house, I bet they didn't even notice when I left. Danny needed help finding his book that he desperately needed and apparently it was a matter of life and death to find it. He said he was packing the last of his stuff from the hospital.
So here I am, wondering the halls of the hospital looking for the room that Danny had been staying in. Holding my phone in my hand, I decided to text Lydia saying I'll see her soon. And it wasn't long before I found the room. I swung the door open and stepped into the room.
"S-stop, you're tickling me." I heard Danny chuckle, which caused me to draw my eyes away from my phone and looked up. My eyes widened as I saw Danny having his face squished around by Jake. Before I could say anything, my phone dropped out of my grip, falling to the floor which was followed by a loud crack.
I cursed under my breath before both of their heads turned to the loud crack sound in shock. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." I said awkwardly. The boys exchanged a look between each other before Jake quickly removed his hands from Danny's face. "Um, it's not- we were just messing around." Danny defended, laughing a little.
Jake didn't say anything, he just stood there staring at me with his mouth slightly open. Maybe I should go, I feel like I was interrupting something. "I, uh...I should go." I tell them both, picking up my cracked phone before taking my exit out the door, tripping over my own feet as I did so. Oh my god, did that just happen?
This is all too confusing, I was so sure Jake was straight, not that it matters if he's gay. I mean, congratulations for him and Danny. But Jesus, I did not expect to see that coming. "Kelsey, wait." I heard Jake call after me, but I ignored him. I just continued to walk down the halls until I was out of the hospital.
How could I not realize that Jake was gay. Is he gay? He must be if he was being that close to Danny. Once I was finally out of the hospital, I was about to get on my motorbike when I heard footsteps running closer, along with a shout. "Wait up, Kelsey." It was Jake. I stopped in my tracks and turned to the panting boy.
"Man, you walk fast." He said once he caught up, still panting a little. "What do you want?" I ask. Why the hell did he chase me all the way out here? Shouldn't he be with Danny, his boyfriend?
"What's wrong? I mean you left all in a hurry." He said, after scratching the back of his neck. "It's nothing, I just- don't worry." Why would Danny text me to come to the hospital if Jake was there? It doesn't make any sense. "No, tell me what's up." He demanded, slightly worried and confused.
I sigh in defeat. "I was just a little surprised when I saw you and Danny." Maybe that was Danny's way of getting Jake to come out of the closet? That's if he isn't already out. Maybe I was just too blind to detect he was gay. Or maybe I just didn't want to believe he was gay.
"Oh, so is that why you left?" He asked. Why is everyone and everything so confusing lately? "Yeah, why didn't you say you and Danny were together?" I ask, slightly annoyed. Jake looked confused. "Together, what?"
