Love Is Sweeter The Second Time Around

Chapter One

''Wake up sleepyhead! We gotta get ready for the first day of junior year!'' Amanda, one of my best friends, whispered waking me up. I forgot. I let Amanda and Shaye, my other best friend, sleepover so we could all go to school together. ''Go away. Leave without me'' I moaned sleepily. I felt tugging on my arms and legs. They're never gonna give up.                                                 

 I stretched and moved slowly towards the bathroom. After I was showered, had breakfast and brushed my teeth Amanda, Shaye and I did each others hair and make-up. I straightened Shaye's hair while Amanda put on some mascara, eyeliner, a little bit of blush and lipliner to make her pretty face stand out. Next I curled Amanda's hair and brushed though the curls to make them fall loosely around her shoulders while Shaye put light purple eyeshadow, eyeliner and a light colored lipstick; she looked amazing! Last but not least I sat on my bed awaiting my makeover.

 Amanda curled my hair loosely and pinned some of the curls up, Shaye put midnight blue eyeliner on my eyes, a bit of blush and some lipliner. They turned a hand held mirror to my face and I stared in awe; I looked completely different from when I woke up this morning!

''We are going to be the best looking juniors that our school has ever seen!'' Amanda exclaimed happily looking at herself in my full length mirror. ''Every guy will want to be with us after today girls, so don't make any plans for the next few weeks'' Shaye said overexagerating; She was always doing that. ''I'm not sure about the 'every guy wanting to be with us' thing Shaye but I bet a few guys are gonna be asking for our numbers. Mine and Shaye's numbers that is since you've got Jackson'' I said looking at Amanda.

 Amanda and her boyfriend Jackson have been together since the beginning of freshman year; they are a pretty cute couple. Luckily me and Shaye are single at the moment. Shaye's last boyfriend was an ass to her so she dumped him, and well my last boyfriend....Lets just say he never wanted me in the first place.

''Yeah, in 2 weeks Jackson and I will have been together for a whole 2 years!'' Amanda was really happy with Jackson; They're perfect for each other. I pushed tons of clothes past me looking for the best outfit for today. ''I can't find anything to wear!'' I complained. ''Here let me look'' Amanda said pushing past me to my closet. She held out a really cute pair of slightly ripped skinny jeans and a light blue V-neck shirt. She knows what would look good on me.

 I walked to my bathroom, put on the clothes and we all walked downstairs and out the door. As soon as we were out the door I noticed Jackson's 2012 Honda Civic Sedan in my drive way. ''I thought we were going to take the bus?'' I asked a little agitated. ''No way. We'll make more of an entrance if we walk throught the front doors together instead of getting off a bus with a bunch of other people'' Amanda explained to me as we made our way over to the car. Shaye and I looked at each other without saying anything, shrugged our shoulders and got in the back seat while Amanda sat in front.

''Morning babe. Hey Rose-Marie. Hey Shaye.'' Jackson greeted as we got into the car. He slowly pulled out of the drive way and down the long road towards school. While Jackson and Amanda were having their own conversation and Shaye was texting, I decided to just stare out the window and look at things as they pass us by. Nothing but trees. More trees and rocks.

But something caught my eye. Actually someone caught my eye. He was standing at the end of a drive way, he wore a black sweater with blue jeans. 

Oh. My. God. It was him! The last person that I ever wanted to see again! One of the people I despised the most! Well, that's what I wanted myself to believe.

Max and I don't talk anymore. I've tried to start conversations but he just pretends I'm not there and walks past me. So I just leave him alone.

''Hello! Earth to Rose. Is anyone there?'' Shaye teased snapping me out of my walk down memory lane. ''What?'' I asked. ''We're at school. What happened? You looked like you were in another world?'' Amanda questioned as all of us piled out of Jackson's car. ''Oh...It was nothing. Happens all the time'' I replied. She smiled at me as if she understood.

''Ready girls? Today is the start of a new year. The best year of our lives!'' Amanda exclaimed, grabbing hold of Jackson's hand. She was right. This is going to be the best year ever! Together we all walked through the door of the school.
