Chapter 5
When I stepped through the door, first thing I did was lock the it and close all the windows. This is not how I imagined my first week of grade 11! I felt so alone. I didn't want to get my friends involved because I didn't know what Justin was capable of. All I knew was that he could be dangerous and the last thing I need is someone I love getting hurt because of me.
So many thoughts were going through my head at once but they all disappeared when the phone rang. ''Hello?..'' I asked hesitently, ''Rose? Where the hell have you been all day?! Everyone said they saw you in first period but then you disapeared. What the happened?'' It was Amanda; So called worrying about me as usual. '', Amanda.. I'm fine. I just uh didn't feel well so I walked home. If that's all you wanted then I have to go..'' '', wait you're not off the hook yet! There's rumor going around that you're dating Justin again? Rose are you okay, you're really not acting like yourself'' Boy was she was right.
While pondering whether to tell my best friend the truth about today a hand wrapped around my mouth, instantly making me scream but no sound came out. I turned to face Justin! ''Gaahh!'' Only muffled a scream of terror slipped through his hand.
Justin grabbed the phone from me and just before he hung up I could hear Amanda screaming through the other end. I could tell she knew something was wrong.
''I knew it. I knew I'd never be able to trust you. You're smart and I admire that; One of the very many things that I love about you. Well from now on wherever you go, I'll be there.'' He had a scary look on his face and the words he just spoke we like a sugar coated threat. Not a good mix. One hand had let go of me to reach into his jeans pocket and pull out the knife he'd used on me at school.
The minute he pulled it out I heard pounding on my front door. Amanda. It has to be her, please let it be Amanda! ''Answer the door, like everything is fine. If you do anything that gets suspisous, it'll end badly for everyone.'' he warned. Letting go of my mouth I answered ''Whatever. Don't touch me! And just so you know I wasn't going to tell anyone about what happened.''
Taking a deep breath I quickly walked over and opened the door, just as I suspected Amanda was waiting impateintly on the other side. ''What's going on?'' Anger and fear were written all over her, ''Oh you mean what happened on the phone? That was Justin joking around'' I lied hoping she would buy it. ''Hey Amanda'' Justin said steping beside me pushing the knife into my back a little bit, ''Hi Justin... Rose-Marie you scared me to death!'' '', Yeah scared me to'' I muttered under my breath hoping Justin didn't hear me, he did. The knife went in a little deeper this time making me wince. He looked at me with an evil smile like you'd see a kidnapper do on a movie.
''Amanda I have to go... I'll see you at school tomorrow ok?'' ''Ok Rose...Bye'' she said sadly. When I closed my door Justin pulled the knife away from me and put it back in his pocket, thank god. ''You're luckey Rose-Marie, very luckey''. What have I gotten myself into?
