Chapter 10: Separated and Devastation
______________________________________
Recap:
I ran on deck and saw lightening followed by thunder.
I heard a huge bang and turned to see Maggie get knocked unconscious by hitting her head on the wheel when another wave hit.
"Guys look!" I heard Harry scream, sounding terrified. A HUGE wave coming right at us. Great.

*Zayn's POV*
I couldn't sleep. I just can't even begin to imagine my mum having breast cancer and not doing well. Poor Maggie. Hopping out of bed, I decided to take a short walk on deck and visit her.
Wind screamed at everything in its path, and storm clouds started blotting the sky, then dappling, and finally the storm clouds completely filled the sky, covering it with moon-dust-gray colored clumps of wrath.
I could feel the temperature slowly decreasing, the wind helping. Suddenly, a fork of lightening pierced the sky, lighting up my vision with purplish-white light. A slam of thunder followed in quick pursuit, causing me to jump slightly in surprise.
My heart started racing, and of course, the worst time to remember the Titanic movie was now. And I remembered it CLEARLY. I don't believe there are any icebergs here, though...
Rain spit out from the sky, wet drops splattering on the boat and making it slippery. Perrie, El, Ruby, and the rest of the boys entered the deck, panting. I guessed that they were running.
A heavy splashing sound, louder than anything else at the moment pounded on my ear. I flinched, and whipped toward the sound, a bit scared to find out what it was.
My mouth gaped. Louis screamed. Niall pointed wordlessly. Liam was facing the wrong direction, ha ha, get it?? No, seriously. He was.
Harry shouted, "Guys, look!" A gigantic wave, at least forty feet tall, was barreling through the open sea, collecting more and more power and headed right for the ship.
"Maggie's unconscious! She banged her head against the metal steering wheel thingy for the boat! Ruby doesn't know how to control it, so AHHHHH!!" Liam screamed, carrying Maggie's limp form in his arms and running back and forth across the white boat. A large black-and-blue bruise was already starting to form on Maggie's forehead, where her drenched hair was sticking mercilessly to her.
The boat started to bob back and forth sharply due to the lack of a conscious captain.
"Grab the life vests!" I snapped back to my senses and started searching for life vests.
A few minutes later, all the gathered life preservers added up to 8. I did a head count to make sure everyone was here.
"We're missing somebody! Oh no!" I panicked, clutching my hair. My beautiful, precious hair.
"Uh, Zayn, you forgot to count yourself." Niall told me.
"Psh, wha? I knew that, I was just...testing you. That's right." I nodded, proud of my obvious excuse.
"Nine people. Eight life jackets." Harry finalized.
"Wow, someone's a math genius!" Ruby laughed sarcastically.
"Shut up and grab a jacket!" Liam rushed up to us.
Eleanor ended up without a life jacket.
"Hold on tight, love." Louis grabbed Eleanor as they jumped into the icy Indian Ocean together.
