"Really? Can you do anything right?" I shouted. Deep down I knew I shouldn't be so rude, but under the circumstances I couldn't find anything better to say.
"I'm sorry, okay? It was your fishing boat that got us stuck out here, anyways." Liam snapped, looking around unsuccessfully for something to row with.
"You were one of the ones to fall off it!"
"You were the one that jumped off when you could've saved us instead!"
I looked away, chewing on my lip. Liam had a valid point.
"It's all my fault," I realized, "that we're stuck out here. I'm the cause of our deaths! I'm sorry. I should be the one that's sorry. I'm so sorry, Liam. I jumped off the ship because I didn't know what else to do. I panicked."
"Don't say that." Liam's eyes seemed to be focused off into the distance, behind me.
"Maggie?"
"Yes?"
"We're saved."
"Huh?"
"I mean, there's a ship out there. It's coming towards us. Help me signal it!"
We shouted to the ship, waving our arms frantically.
Eventually, it came to a stop about a thousand feet away from us, the engine sputtering.
The ship was unfamiliar, and rather small, but who came out onto its deck to greet us?
Niall.
"Niall! Over here!" I called to him.
"...ice...thick...go around..." Niall shouted back to us, the sound muffled by the distance between us. Although we only heard a few words, we got the message: to sit and wait while they came for us.
With a huge amount of time to spare, I got to know the real, down to earth Liam. We talked and joked about things like our families, towns and One Direction's tour, and it was rather entertaining. It was nice getting to talk to Liam.
"It may not have been such a bad thing that we got stranded." Liam told me.
"We have each other." I said.
Smiling shyly, I looked him in the eyes, my thoughts causing my eyes to wander down to his lips. He seemed to understand, pulling me closer. My eyes fluttered shut, waiting for Liam's lips to press against mine. I felt them, brushing up against mine, and then with a harder force. Wrapping his arms around my waist, he smiled into the kiss, and I put my arms around his neck.
"Um, hey guys. Guys! The ship's here." Niall alerted, clearing his throat.
We broke apart, smiling as I used our single oar to maneuver us over to the short ladder leading to the ship.
"Thanks for picking us up." Liam nodded to Niall.
"Of course. We got blown somewhere to the east, and we were found by a ship. I asked if we could look for you guys, and they said they'd help us look and send rescue helicopters to search as well." Niall explained.
"Wait a minute, didn't you say 'we'? Does that mean-" I was cut off by Niall.
"If you mean to ask if we've already found others besides you, than yes. Welcome aboard."
It's short, and not very well written, but here it is.
Sorry about the wait.
